When the black mage unveiled its cloak, revealing her gender to be that of a woman.

Not to mention Lei Zhen, even the rest of the soldiers were utterly dumbfounded by this unexpected situation.

"Damn, what a miscalculation indeed." Lei Zhen cursed slightly.

He originally planned to have the beautiful Griselda seduce and distract the black mage, but given that the black mage was a woman herself, the charm naturally won't work.

What was worse was the fact that the beauty of the black mage wasn't inferior to Griselda.

"Heh, you didn't expect this, did you, Chancellor?" The black mage laughed coldly as she glared at Lei Zhen, ignoring Griselda completely.

Lei Zhen nodded his head.

"Indeed, you being a woman certainly surprised me slightly. However, did you think that's all I'm capable of?" He suddenly laughed and snapped his finger.

"W-What?" The black mage suddenly felt a bad premonition incoming.

She had fallen into his traps time and time again. Despite being powerful, she had not seen his capability yet besides his excellent deployment strategy,

"Heh, you're trembling for someone known to have no fear, black mage." Lei Zhen chuckled softly when he saw her being cautious.

"Watch this!"

He then faked an action, prompting the black mage to cast a shield to fend off the incoming attack.

"Whoops, that was just a mistake. Why did you cast a barrier?" Lei Zhen teased joyfully.

"H-How dare you to provoke me!" The black mage was furious to be played for a fool.

"Provoke you? Sorry, I can't comprehend the language of a raging black mage. I should have learned some more from books." Lei Zhen sighed regrettably.

His genuine sincerity in the tone was what caused the black mage to truly have had enough of the humiliation and suffering she had been getting.

'I didn't want to cast any gigantic spell since it would destroy my hard research, but forget it. This damn Chancellor bastard needs to perish.' The black mage thought to herself.

When the black mage began casting, Lei Zhen slowly took out the final scroll that Kate gave him.

As much as he wished he didn't use it and save it for the future, there was no other choice.

'Destruction Spell, a one-time use item that can deal massive damage equivalent to the percentage of an enemy's health.' Lei Zhen read the description in his mind, feeling his heart ache a little bit.

This was an extremely rare item that one can't even buy from anywhere else. Yet because of this black mage, he had to use it.

"Beautiful woman or not, today's the day that your demise shall commence." Lei Zhen sneered coldly, activating the scroll and raising his [Staff of Flagrance].

Flicking his arm, Lei Zhen threw the spell directly at the black mage.

"What the hell? That's cheating!!!" The black mage cursed in anger when she watched Lei Zhen attack her while she was casting.

"Cheating? I don't recall setting up any rules."

"Tsk, and they say black mage is the incarnation of evil? You are even more despicable than me!"

"Thank you for the compliment. Now please, just die." Lei Zhen said emotionlessly and witnessed a great firework scene.

BOOOOOM!

The black mage's shield was shattered completely upon receiving the fatal strike from Lei Zhen. She crashed down to the ground in a hard impact, causing a small crater to form around her.

And during that time, Lei Zhen received a notification that made him laugh.

Ding!

[Staff of Flagrance's effect had been activated. The black mage is now charmed by you for 5 seconds.]

"Do you think I look handsome?" Lei Zhen walked closer and asked kindly, shocking everyone present for the out-of-context words.

However, what caused everyone to rub their eyes twice was when they saw the black mage come out of the crater and held an admiring gaze directed at Lei Zhen.

She was like an innocent woman in love, not caring about the surroundings or the debris. In her eyes, there was only love for Lei Zhen.

Meanwhile, Lei Zhen felt goosebumps because of the black mage's attitude.

'Damn, charming is really a deadly skill.' He thought to himself, subtly glancing at Griselda who was hovering in the sky.

Though it was only for a split second since Lei Zhen quickly used [Stun], [Decaying Poison], and [Blind] simultaneously at the black mage.

"What are you idiots waiting for?" Lei Zhen then turned to the soldiers and scolded them harshly.

"Detain her now when she's still under the effect of my crowd control." He added.

"R-Right away, Chancellor!"

It was only now that the soldiers regained their composure from such an unexpected end.

Who would have thought the black mage would be apprehended due to being charmed?

With the special handcuff locked onto the black mage, Lei Zhen could only breathe a sigh of relief.

After all, those special handcuffs are designed to prevent the black mage from utilizing mana, effectively canceling any possible type of escape skills under her belt.

Despite the seemingly easy ending, Lei Zhen wasn't that happy either given the destruction of the swamp.

The monsters that were summoned and slain constantly remained on the battlefield, and if not properly taken care of, an infection could easily arise.

For each battle, the fighting wasn't the difficult part, but the aftermath that needed to be cleaned was the difficult part.

The black mage that was now detained held a resentful look at Lei Zhen.

"You tricky little bastard, using all kinds of dirty tricks to capture me. Are you proud of yourself?" She asked angrily, clearly wanting to strangle him for the humiliation and charm effect.

Meanwhile, Lei Zhen shrugged his shoulders in response. They were enemies, so who would care if his method was ethical or unethical?

The winner makes the rule whereas the loser shall be disgraced.

And right now, he was the winner of this battle, so no one would dare to criticize his dirty method.

"If you want to blame someone, then you should blame yourself for agreeing to ambush Princess Kate." Lei Zhen calmly said, ordering the soldiers to put her in the prison cell.
