On the way back to human land YuJu received a blood message from Mia

"Hmm? A badge representing my position?"

Was what she requested be sent along with the seed, making him frown quite a bit

"She did something unnecessary, the elves were not supposed to know of my true identity"

They were the only ones along with the humans who were to remain clueless, now he might have to take a different approach than what he was planning

"I'll handle it after the Impassable Hills, if there is no time then…"

He made up his mind and sent a blood message back, ordering Mia to be ready to slaughter at any moment

"I can find others to nurture the watchtower"

With that he sped straight toward the Impassible Hills

In no time he arrived at the base of the tall white mountain, only he took a different approach to climb it than the brute force one Ellis had used

"It's not really that hard to do it without the aura of that old one freezing you down to the bones"

So he entered stealth, and this time he manipulated his state a little bit so that he could go undetected even within the aura of another, something he was never able to do in the past without using his class skill, the main reason he suffered to get his hands on an aura of his own

Still, YuJu was unsure if this new technique could help escape the senses of that fellow lording over this mountain

"Only one way to find out"

One light step after the other he climbed up this supposedly challenging incline, using his tangible smoke to create split second footholds so he wouldn't disturb the snow and give away his arrival

Not only that, he had to adjust the flow of his energy and aura rhythm to match that of the raging blizzard, flowing it around him like it was the most natural thing to do

'The footholds are one thing but this storm is utterly ridiculous to control'

So much for an easy climb, doing it Ellis's way would have been much simpler

'He can't know I am here until I prepare things on my end'

To convince this one through words would be a waste of breath, only extreme actions may sway him, hopefully the way YuJu wanted

'I'm eighty percent sure my plan will work, but if it doesn't I will have to let out Pride for a little while'

That was the last thing he wanted to do right now, but circumstances forced his hand

It wasn't as hellish one the body as it was for the redhead but much more taxing for the mind, granted it took him merely a third of the time it took her to reach the sanctuary

YuJu's head seemed to be spinning after the fact but he shook it off and sneaked inside, with the storm mo longer surrounding him he merely needed to keep producing footholds to get around

Using the tattoo he checked in on Ellis's situation, finding her drinking some tea with the company of that guy and one of his descendants

Naturally, Ellis already felt his approach, after spending much time with him however she knew not to come to him if he didn't ask

Since she was halfway through the cup he hurriedly put his plan into action

Through the window he snuck into one of the houses where a happy family of three were having a cold dish with joy and laughter filling the air

'Was between the third and fourth vertebrae?'

Unsheathing his daggers and taking aim he made a stab on the largest Yeti's spine, and despite their touch bodies it went right through

'Seems about right'

Despite the frantic and shocked gazes of the rest of this Yeti's family YuJu gave a satisfied smile, then slid his dagger into them as well

Once all three were down he checked for their pulse and made sure none were dead

Checking with through Ellis he noted the fellow was none the wiser of what just happened

'The aura doesn't cover the inside of the houses, how considerate of him'

With everything working out to his advantage he started sneaking from house to house, stabbing the innocent and unaware yetis without the slightest hesitation

By the time Ellis had finished her cup YuJu had crippled the entire sanctuary, all but the old one and the descendant by his side

'Now the hardest step... let's hope I won't enrage him too much'

"And that back kick was so cool too! I almost lost my jaw to it!"

As always Yit was enthusiastically blabbering about the happenings of the day as of they weren't all there to see it, going in and on about every little detail with great exaggeration

"That's enough Yit, I believe it is time you get to sparring once more"

"But grandpa we just started the break"

"It's been well over a drizzle, now you two go practice"

Ellis nodded and put down her cup, thinking to herself what her master was doing all this while, was he here to pick her up after a failed mission, or was it to convince old man Yityi himself

'I hope master is not dismayed by my failure'

Not that she felt any guilt, after spending a while with the millennium old yeti she figured out how hardheaded he was, neither logic nor emotions got through to him, this mission was impossible from the very start

Nonetheless, a failure was a failure and she was ready to accept whatever he had in store for her when she got out

"I hope you could go easy on me in the spar, as awesome as your moves are I kind of want to keep my body parts where they are"

"....."

"Oh! But maybe if I get beat up and heal over and over I could get tougher skin? Maybe I will get a skill for it too!"

"....."

"And maybe-" "It's too quiet" "-I, huh? What was that grandpa?"

Yit finally stopped blabbering on and turned to Yityi, noting the old ancestor of his looking about 

"No one is out"

"Maybe they are still eating grandpa"

All of them late at the same time? Such an unlikely coincidence, thought Ellis and Yityi, but while the old one seemed clueless Ellis was already feeling uneasy

Though Yityi was mindful of his descendants' privacy the situation was much too strange, thus he allowed his aura to search through one of the homes

"!!!"

Those hidden eyes peaked out in great shock, morphing ever so quickly into rage after seeing the motionless bodies of every resident in the sanctuary, the elderly, men and women, even the children were not spared, most with an expression of panic on their faces

All the anger from seeing the ones he lived to protect bubbled inside him, overflowing into the air as a deadly chill froze everything in the blink of an eye

"A despairing sight is it not?"

A voice came before them, snatching Yityi's attention instantly

Smoke filtered in as a silhouette formed, from within sounded the heartless voice

"All you sought to protect, all that you sacrificed your everything for, laying down cold, why? Because you refused to open those eyes to the truth....the truth of your helplessly weak self"

There was an undertone of nostalgia in the voice, yet Yityi bothered himself not with it, eyes turning red he gave a loud shout, bringing down an avalanche like no other before channeling his aura to freeze every single particle of this murderous silhouette

"I'm not here to fight you"

Came the voice once more, only this time right beside him as YuJu came into sight, unmasked nor hidden behind the cover of his aura

"I am merely here to show you what 'could' happen if the path of solitude is what you walk"

He stared at the red raging eyes and quickly followed up before the cold aura conjured around his actual body

"They are still alive, a few days of rest and everyone can make a full recovery"

This did not banish the bone freezing chill but at least he did not turn into a human sized popsicle

"Join the Vanguard, we will make sure the chances of such things happening are meager"

He slipped him the contract paper and picked up the fainted Ellis before starting to fade away

"You believe you could just leave after what you've done?!"

Roared the mighty Yeti, but all he received was a ridiculing glance

"Know your place mortal, I have killed much more powerful beings with but a thought"

YuJu replied, a dark halo of death around him that assured Yityi this was no bluff

"....."

"You have two days to make up your mind, otherwise you will be on the hunting list instead"

With that YuJu finally faded out of this ice prison, leaving the heaving Yityi alone with his thoughts clashing like the rolling sea
