Manaless Mage

113 Against the cobra

SCREECH!!

The mana beast let out another wail in anger as it landed back on the ground. Though Harry's attacks weren't so powerful that it'd get severe injuries from it, they still annoyed it; like little ants.

Meanwhile, Harry let out a low hiss as he suddenly bursted forward.

By now his energy had regenerated quite well, and even though it was simultaneously dropping, it was still more than enough for him to continue the fight.

'If wind blade doesn't work… this just means I would have to use all my skills, and not hold anything back!'

SCREECH!

The mana beast suddenly let out another wail before dashing forwards, slithering in between the grasses to use it as cover.

However, Harry didn't panic this time. He focused on his perception to the max, and used the grasses movements to determine the cobra's position.

It was surely a powerful beast, but it was still just a stage two mana beast that didn't have high intelligence.

It was moving in a spiral motion, probably to confuse its 'prey'—Harry, but that made the beast next position predictable.

Harry knew he couldn't keep on a defensive position, so he decided to change his strategy and go in for the attack!

The moment he closed in on the approaching beast, he suddenly leapt up, twisting his body slightly in the air and performing something similar to a front flip.

His hands were pointed downwards and lightning blitzed around his body.

Normally, he might not have the physical capabilities to do something like this but with [Accelerate] and [Lightning Dash] active, his agility more or lees tripled and he was able to easy move his body; even in the air.

Just as he expected, the beast paused for a moment before leaping towards him with its mouth wide open.

It was as if time had slowed for Harry, as he stared at the long fangs of the cobra and seemingly unending abyss of its mouth from an upside down position, he couldn't help but feel cold sweat drip down his back.

His heart started beating faster and adrenaline circulated around his body.

However, he didn't take away his focus from the mana beast; not even for a second.

"Wind needles." He muttered.

Immediately, three needles made purely out of the wind formed in front of his outstretched palms before shooting towards the cobra.

Two of the needles went into the beast mouth while the last one pierced its right eyes, bursting it and causing blood to gush out of it.

SCREECH!!!

The mana beast let out another annoying cry, except this time it was a lot louder and seemed to be filled with pain and frustration.

It started trashing around, wriggling and squirming, in a bid to ease the pain coursing through its body.

It had also taken quite the damage from the pair of wind needles that went into its mouth, further increasing its pain and frustration.

No matter how strong the defense of an organism was, the eyes were always known to be a weak spot, which was why Harry went for the eyes.

However, he didn't let this get into his head and even increased his focus even more.

Just before Harry landed back on his feet, he spun his body again before throwing his right hand in an horizontal curve.

'Wind slash.'

Immediately, a huge abound of wind gathered around his hand before shooting forward, merging together into a crescent line.

The attack sliced through the air, with its length and sharpness increasing every second. Within the blink of an eyes, it hit the snake right below its head, making a deep cut that bled with thick blood.

Launching those skills took up quite a chunk of Harry's energy due to how strong they were.

Since the beast was trashing around, targeting the neck wasn't actually as easy as it seemed and the slash connecting was more of an intuition on Harry's part.

SCREECH!!!

"Lightning Ball." Harry muttered. He didn't give the mana beast anytime to rest before sending a lightning attack towards the beast.

Using the speed from [Lightning Dash], he leapt backwards, mainly to create more distance between them, before launching another Lightning ball towards the mana beast.

The fast regeneration of mana beast was one of the most annoying aspects of fighting against them.

Harry knew that the beast could simply heal itself if given even a few seconds of rest.

The two lightning attacks flew towards the beast with astonishing speed, with one tailing behind the other, leaving a small trail of lightning.

However, just as the first Lightning hall was about to hit it, the mana beast suddenly twisted its body, dodging the attack.

The Lightning crashed on the ground instead, bringing about a small explosion of lightning.

But the second ball of lightning closed in on it before it was even able to react.

It tried to twist and coil its body again, but unfortunately for it, it wasn't fast enough and the attack hit it just below its neck.

SCREECH!!

It let out another wail in pain as jolts of lightning coursed through its body.

Even after that, Harry still didn't relent on his attacks.

He stretched his hands forwards, before activating another skill.

"Shattering rock!" Immediately, two small dark brown rocks formed in front of his palms before shooting towards the cobra.

He ignored the notification that flashed across his eyes, focusing more on his current situation.

Harry didn't stop and kept releasing more rocks towards the mana beast.

SCREECH!!

The mana beast let out another sound in frustration.

The recent attacks Harry had been sending towards him weren't that powerful, they only annoyed it like ants, driving it further and further into frustration.

It immediately tried to escape the income barrage of rocks, however, the moment they got close to him, they suddenly exploded into small pieces.

The power behind the rocks didn't reduce when they exploded but rather increased, the explosions were propelling them forwards with more power.
