Vincent's question hung in the air like an invisible chain, wrapping around Saintess Agnes' neck.

'What should I do? Do I fight or retreat?' Her mind raced, considering the best course of action to take.

She knew that any decision she made would have far-reaching consequences, and the possibility of facing an old god was something she doesn't dare to imagine.

The old gods from the past were only hunted down primarily due to the assistance of the true angels.

However, with the world fate suppressing everything , the existence of true angels was no longer necessary, and they were unable to come to Earth anymore. This explained why the Vatican could only rely on Artificial Angels as a substitute..

As a consequence of this suppression, the overall combat power of the supernatural beings of this era had declined.

They didn't lack talent or potential. However, due to the limited energy available around them, it became increasingly challenging for them to gain power and reach their full potential. The constraints imposed by the world's fate made it a constant struggle for them to grow stronger.

But what about those who reached the peak before the suppression? That's right; those old gods might have been weakened, but they are still more powerful compared to others in the same rank.

"Let's retreat," her words resounded as she finally accepted defeat.

The facial expressions of the other Vatican operatives turned sour, but they knew better than to question their saint's decision.

Respecting her authority and wisdom, they complied without hesitation.

"Good decision, you saved a lot of lives today," Erika couldn't resist teasing her.

But Agnes simply halted her tracks for a moment and continued walking away, not wanting to engage in an argument with her.

"We will also go on our way. Thank you for saving us," Lao Feng spoke with gratitude, he covered his one fist as a sign of respect to Vincent.

Though he had been mortally wounded before, his strong vitality and the aid of pills had allowed him to recover, and his life was no longer in danger.

"I will be forever grateful for this. I hope the Moonlight Sanctuary and The Sorcerers of the East can foster a good relationship in the future," Lao Feng added sincerely.

Witnessing the power of the Moonlight Sanctuary, he recognized that they were in no way weaker than his own group.

The prospect of befriending Vincent and his group seemed like a prudent and beneficial course of action, one that could potentially open up new avenues of cooperation for both.

"I agree with Master Lao Feng, We should foster a good relationship" Vincent reciprocated, acknowledging the potential for a positive alliance between them.

"Thank you," Lao Feng expressed his gratitude, glad that he was able to leave a good impression. With that, they bid their farewells and departed.

Next to approach was Colonel Jackson. Despite his own rank, he still spoke with gratitude and respect, expressing his appreciation for the assistance they had received.

His tone carried a sense of humility and admiration, recognizing the power and capabilities of the Moonlight Sanctuary.

With a nod of acknowledgment, Colonel Jackson and the rest of the group left Vincent, Erika, and Selene alone. While the other members of the Moonlight Sanctuary remained vigilant, diligently scouting the sky.

"Fenrir," Erika's voice jolted Vincent. Her eyes gleamed with hope as she asked.

"Did you recover your memory?" Her voice conveyed the excitement of the possibility of him regaining his lost past.

"Thank you for all your sacrifices. I'm sorry that you have to experience all those hardships because of me. " He spoke with a gentle tone as he touched her chin. He remembered that she loved this gesture of his.

"I'll make sure to make things right now that I have my memory back" he added. He decided to portray the image of the Fenrir they loved and remembered.

Erika's eyes started to tear up.

"You better be. I was stuck for years on that ice, waiting for you to come," she said teasingly, but Vincent could see that she was just acting tough.

After a few seconds, she could no longer stop her emotions and hugged Vincent tightly.

In that moment, he could feel the genuine joy and emotion in Erika's heart. He realized just how much she loves Fenrir.

"I will protect all of you this time," he muttered to himself, a solemn vow etched in his heart.

Evangeline Chamber

After feeling her power slowly returning, she had drifted off to sleep. For countless years, her power had been instrumental in preventing fate from knowing their plan, but now, it was no longer necessary.

Her eyes fluttered open as she awoke from her slumber.

"So it's finally starting. He got his memory back," a smile formed on Evangeline's face as she felt her powers becoming complete .

She attempted to peer into the future again, and as expected, it was no longer within her reach.

This revelation indicated that Vincent had successfully broken free from the established thread of fate .

What she had seen before was still within the realm of many possibilities and the constraints of fate, but now, it was different. Vincent had completely become a blank sheet of paper, unbound by the predetermined paths of destiny.

"I have to prepare and greet them," she muttered under her breath. Her instincts kicked in to control her wheelchair, but then she remembered that she already regained her ability to walk.

A smile graced her face as she slowly stood up and familiarized herself with the sensation.

The first step was wobbly, but after a couple of seconds, she regained her ease in walking.

She then proceeded to the Main Command Room.

HISS

The sound of air releasing from the mechanical door caught the attention of everyone working inside the Main Command Room.

"Mother Evangeline, you can now walk!"

Everyone in the room stood up in joy. The sight of her walking filled them with joy and astonishment.

Despite being weakened for a long time, Evangeline had led them perfectly , and everyone knew the sacrifices she had made to bring them to this stage.

Her commitment to their family and her good leadership had been a guiding force for the Moonlight Sanctuary.

"Thank you for your help until now, can you give me the status of our leader." She asked with a sweet voice.

One of the people tasked with relaying the information stood up. She was a female vampire with long black hair.

"Mother Evangeline, our leader had successfully defeated Diablo. As you predicted, there were confrontations with the Vatican, but our leader handled the situation perfectly."

"That's good news. Where are they now?" She asked.

"They are currently on their way back, but our leader sent us a message to tell you that he will be collecting the other fragments, so he will be late. He said he will bring your sister back," the female vampire replied.

"I see ," Evangeline smiled, her heart filled with relief.

With Vincent's increased power, collecting the fragments would undoubtedly be much faster, and she had faith in his ability to handle any challenges that arose along the way.

'The world will once again enter a new era of destruction. But this is necessary if we really want to attain true freedom ' she muttered to herself.
