The night is long, and everyone is asleep already except Lyan. He was observing the summoning grimoire that is currently showing him the events occurring inside the summoning grimoire's space.

As he stares at the disguised grimoire, Wilhelmina's friends want to thank him for saving them, but stopped in their tracks when they saw he's very absorbed and focused on his book.

Tesha also saw him but she didn't leave him alone because of the same reason as Wilhelmina and the others, it was solely because she was too sleepy after eating so much, so she went ahead to the room too has a nice and cozy sleep.

For about two hours, Lyan observes the progress of his summonable creatures inside the grimoire in absorbing the mana from the frost giant's corpses and the frost undead corpses.

Going to the north and taking the dangerous routes is not something that he decided on a whim. After thinking carefully and considering the merits and the risk, Lyan made the decision on taking on the challenge of breaking through the dangerous regions on his way to the Redania Empire.

His first reason is to search for the dwarven temple and look for any sign or hint of earth in the remains of the dwarven era. The thing that drives him to look for the dwarven temple is the book that he read at the Scholar's Inn that hints about how there are futuristic weapons made by the dwarves inside the dwarven temple. It's quite rare for modern weapons to be found in a world that is filled with magic, since unlike on earth, there are lots of complex human activities that could be covered by mana and magic.

But when he arrived at the dwarven temple and search inside with the hope of founding the traces of earth, he didn't find any of them but found the hidden treasures hiding inside the dwarven temple.

Even if Lyan didn't find the dwarven temple after following and connecting the dots from the bits of information he got from several sources, going to the north from the dangerous routes and at such a dangerous time could give him enough experience to fight with his current body.

But it's not solely only to test and challenge his current body to be stronger, but it's also to train his summonable creatures and to make them even stronger. Facing such a dangerous terrain and dangerous opponents such as the frost giants would be able to make them stronger, and they would be able to even absorb the mana and the mana stone from the monsters and the magic beasts that they had defeated.

This justifies his reason for going to the Redania Empire in the far north with several positive merits. But even though he didn't get any trace of the earth, not only that he got the treasures from the dwarven temple, but the monsters and the magical beasts of the summoning grimoire also got strengthened because of his journey.

To be honest, he's not surprised that the black aggressive horse, Shadow, didn't get injured or even sick. He even felt like his guts are saying that Shadow is not less strong than his other summonable creatures. In fact, there were times that he felt like Shadow is faster than some of his summonable creatures.

And then there are the summoned ice golem and rock golem that have been growing bigger than before. The ice golem gained a great amount of strength and confidence, and he almost feels like they can fight against a frost giant or a frost zombie wolf. And the rock golem, instead of growing bigger, they are becoming stronger in terms of its physical strength and defense. They are able to endure more hits in battle, and they are able to recover quickly after taking damage.

Perhaps it's not entirely due to the mana stones, but their enhancement is probably due to the sheer experience and the training that they received when fighting alongside Lyan against the frost giants.

From what Lyan observes, the monsters inside the summoning grimoire are not all on the same level in terms of power and strength. Some monsters are weaker than others, while some are stronger. Even among the same type of monster, some of them are weak, while some are strong.

It makes sense for the monsters inside the grimoire to become stronger in accordance with their power and strength. After all, the grimoire is trying to tell him that the monsters that he summoned are strong, and the ones that he hasn't summoned yet are weak.

In order to make sure that his summons is stronger than the monsters within the summoning grimoire, he gave them more mana stones to consume, and he also gave them a chance to fight with each other, so that they would learn more about how to survive during the battles and how to beat the enemies.

Lyan didn't know if his methods are effective or not, but the speed of advancement of his summonable creatures are more than satisfactory to him. If it's possible, he wouldn't mind giving them more mana stones so that they could gain even more strength.

But then again, they must fight more monsters and magic beasts in order to receive the magic stones and become stronger.

In the end, Lyan had a lot of experience and knowledge about how to improve the power of his summoned monsters. However, his main goal in going to the Redania empire was to find out more about the Redania Empire and to evaluate which place would be the best place for him to take home.

"I guess that's enough of looking at their growth... Now it's time to check out my current strength," Lyan uttered under his breath as he stands up.

Inside the slaves' room, Wilhelmina is talking with her former slave friends and recounting again about how they got saved by Lyan. She's telling them and answering their questions that constantly got thrown at her.

Some are asking why did he save them.

Some are asking how did he save them.

Some are asking whether he will continue to bring them or not.

Some are talking about what he would ask to them since all of them are women and girls, whether he will do something bad or not.

Wilhelmina answered all of them one after another.

She told them that he is a kind guy who wants to help them but it's still unknown whether he would bring them on his journey again or not.

"If you want to live, don't think too much about it. Right now, we're safe here in this village, and it's safe for us too."

"We shouldn't let the opportunity of being rescued pass by, and we should take advantage of the situation where Lyan is helping us right now."

Wilhelmina answered their questions and talked with them.

They kept on talking until they ran out of questions, and in the end, they finally fell asleep. Looking at her friends falling asleep soundly made Wilhelmina feel satisfied, and looking at the children that are sleeping while holding their bellies that are full of the delicious food they ate at dinner made a smile to form on her face.

But looking at them, she once again remembers that after she makes sure of their well-being and leads them to a spot where they could have a peaceful life, she would need to leave them in order to pursue and fulfill her duty as the successor of the Credia house.

"I guess I'll need some fresh air," Wilhelmina uttered as she took the thick fur Lyan gave her and wrap it around her body as she walks out of the room.

Looking at the empty living room, she tilted her head. "Did he go to sleep already?"

Wilhelmina walks to the exit door and skillfully opened it without making a sound. The cold winds of the north blew and made her slightly shiver, but she noticed that unlike before, the coldness she was feeling is not that much.

Her mana that is no longer got blocked and her clothes and the thick fur that is covering her body made her body warmer and could bear the cold better.

"We're so lucky to be here..." Wilhelmina uttered as she stared at the moon in the dark sky. As a smile formed on her face while she started to get sentimental, she sensed a surging mana presence from a distance.

"What is that...?" (Wilhelmina)
