Roy earned millions of gold coins from the items he auctioned. Thus, he was quite happy. That could be discerned from the smile on his face. His total wealth has increased to 8 million after paying the taxes and the cut to the auction house.

He stepped out of the Jade Branch, closely followed by two half-elves that refused to speak. Maya and Aydin hadn't said a word to him since they met face to face.

Maybe they were too shocked to realize that they had become his slaves, or maybe they were wary of him, but they used their silence to deter him from talking to them.

Actually, they didn't know what motives he had behind purchasing them and thus, were suspicious and afraid of him. This resulted in them wanting to gauge his intention before opening up to him.

Roy didn't put pressure on them, as he believed they needed some time to come to terms with reality.

"You already have a capable maid by your side. Why did you get these slaves for?"

Roy was questioned by Arlo.

A second later, Roy gave his uncle an answer. "Because I pitied them."

Hearing his words sent Arlo down a spiral of disbelief.

"I don't believe you." Arlo said, "You got to have a different reason."

"What other reason could I have?" Roy rolled his eyes at his uncle; his acting was top-notch, and his ability to keep secrets from being exposed was even better.

Arlo couldn't see through him, even with his years of experience in interrogating people, and turned silent.

Roy's reason for purchasing them was quite clear.

On top of pitying them, Roy valued them.

They were like Jade that needed to be chiseled and knifed to have an aesthetic value. Because they had the elven bloodline, their energy-sensing capability and talent for magic were innately better than humans. Once they get some training and techniques, it won't take long before they surpass everyone's expectations.

One by one, they stepped into the carriage parked close to the auction house.

Just as Roy was about to go inside, such poisonous gazes landed on him that his sixth sense tingled, and he became conscious of them.

But… the expression on his face didn't change, nor did he take any action that would give him away.

He remained as cheerful as ever because he didn't want to reveal that he knew assassins were targeting him.

Then… the system's notification rang in his mind.

Roy hopped into the carriage, sat beside Delilah, and brought his lips close to her ear, his breath was brushing against its tip, and thus it turned red. This scene shocked the slaves and two more people. Interested, Arlo looked at them with narrowed eyes.

Roy whispered into her ears, "It's time for action."

She turned to him and grabbed his chin between her thumb and forefinger before bringing his face a hairsbreadth from hers.

Seeing this, the onlookers felt something was going on between these two. Maybe they were having an affair? Were they about to kiss? Could they do it somewhere they can't see?

Placing her lips next to his ears, she whispered, "The mantis follows the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind. Is this the strategy you want me to follow?"

His face was used to cover the movement of her lips from Arlo's eyes.

Roy gave her a slight nod. "That's right."

Just as he was about to jump out of the carriage, an inquiring voice stopped him.

"Master, You're not coming with us?" Amelia asked.

"You guys go ahead." Roy stepped out of the carriage. "I have some business to attend to."

The carriage was driven away.

Delilah wasn't seen coming out of it, but she was no longer in it.

She had used her ability to teleport to an inconspicuous spot 40 meters behind Roy.

People could be seen passing by Roy as he was in a crowded street.

He could feel murderous gazes on him, but he didn't try to look for them.

'Hunter is a term with different definitions.'

'A person who clashes with beasts head-on and overwhelms them with his strength is a hunter.'

'A person who fools the prey into believing it is a hunter and baits them into a trap where he kills them is also a hunter.'

'Some fights are not won through strength, but by scheming and vice versa.'

'What I am trying to say is, you need to learn to fight and scheme to become the best among the hunters!'

'A hunter that knows how to do both and is good at it is the most deadliest.'

That was said by the substitute teacher, who Roy deeply respected.

Without any change in his emotions, Roy started scheming. 'It would seem like a trap if I, without a good reason, walked into a place where I could get assassinated. I need a good reason to go to such a place, and I need them to know that. What excuse should I give them? Ahh, that one would be perfect.'

Suddenly, Roy placed his hands behind his head, and after whistling for a while, he said, "I made a fortune in the auction today. I have to spend it in a good way.

It has been a week since I went whoring. I've had enough of refined enchantresses who like to be treated gently. I want to fuck, not show love. I heard Fragrant Orchid Whorehouse is full of women that like to be fucked roughly. I can't wait to get under their skirt and experience bliss with them.' This was intentionally said loud like a ruffian. Roy also increased the blood flow to his private parts to make it as genuine as possible.

This was heard by the two assassins, and their suspicion about Roy lessened, but when they noticed the tent in his pants, they became certain that not only was he not aware of their existence, but he was also not baiting them into a trap.

They were trained professionals, and they could tell that he eagerly wanted to have some fun time.

It's just that they planned to finish him before he reached the brothel!
