Kiss Me Not

178 Not Here To Play Around

The couple made love and enjoyed each other's union passionately. Both were breathless. Gavin hugged Brione in his arms tight in a loving manner. He stared at the ceiling while he gently stroke Brione's hair with a few strands scattered on his chest.

While doing so, his mind was actually at bay on how he could reassure his wife without worrying her too much about the matters of his involvement with the Mirage. He just realized that he did have a lot of plates in his hand at the moment. He had so many things to solve.

He closed his eyes and tried to put his mind at ease. He should think of that matter right now especially when he was in the presence of his wife. They slept, cuddling each other when Gavin drifted into a dream. In his dream, a familiar woman was fighting against some horrible-looking monsters. The monsters looked so terrifying that Gavin hoped he would not encounter such monsters in his entire life.

He was sweating profusely when he heard Brione's voice calling his name, trying to wake him up from his nightmare.

"Darling, Gavin please wake up. What's wrong? Wake up!!!" Brione exclaimed as she shook her husband's shoulders. She could see the sweat trickling down on his forehead, his breathing was so ragged and heavy that she began to get anxious when she saw how Gavin was having a hard time opening his eyes.

All of a sudden, Gavin snapped his eyes open and abruptly sat on the bed, panting heavily, catching his breaths. She was relieved to see him wake up. She quickly got off the bed to get him a glass of water which he took in just one gulp.

"What is it? You're having a nightmare… What happened?" Brione whispered worriedly.

Gavin hugged her and said, "It's nothing, serious sweetheart. Just some things about the ship and Cedric. I saw him again getting shot. I'm for his safety. I hope he is well somewhere." Gavin lied. It was not about the ship nor Cedric… But things he witnessed happening at the Mirage as if it was happening live in real-time.

There were several out-of-this-world events and confrontations, such as humans versus non-humans. He could tell that those things were really happening at that moment and it was all part of his ability as being a Mirage Historian.

It was honestly creepy, but he'd become accustomed to it and was already gasping at the predicament. He would have momentarily lapsed like that and he knew he should start writing it but he would only do it later once Brione was asleep because he did not want his wife to get worried and feel anxious once she saw him out of their bed again.

"Let's sleep, sweetheart. I am fine now," Gavin reassured and pulled Brione back to their bed.

Brione sighed. She could feel something off was going on but she trusted Gavin and she knew he would tell her everything in due time. However, she could not help but start worrying about what was going on with Gavin lately.

He seemed to be hiding something from her and she was not liking it at all. They must not keep things hidden from one another, especially important matters no matter how small it is. She wanted a transparent relationship with her husband and very good communication so their relationship would keep on going stronger.

"Darling, we promise not to keep any secrets from each other, right? Please don't forget about it or else I will be really angry…" Brione whispered with a heavy sigh. She must voice out her complaints like that before Gavin could forget about it!

Gavin smiled and replied, "hmm, I know a way to make you love me only…"

Brione hit his chest and scolded, "I'm serious hmp!"

"Let's just sleep, sweetheart. Don't think nor worry too much about it. I love you Bri…" Gavin whispered as he buried his face on the crook of his wife's neck to inhale her alluring scent.

Brione could only sigh. Deep inside, she knew she must ponder more later about that secret room to find out whatever her husband was hiding from her!

Meanwhile, that same night at a place at the Capital City of Country D, a man who was having a glass of whiskey, stared at the bright moon in the night sky.

"They are making a move. I can feel it… It's only a matter of time and they will discover my existence soon," the old man whispered. There was no fear in his voice nor did he look alarmed. He was so calm that the man on his side shook his head.

"What are your plans? You have already come this far. Don't tell me you're changing your mind now?" the young man asked as he too sipped on his glass of whiskey.

"Let's proceed. I want Lucas destroyed. He snatched everything away from me. All that I had… My everything... so I must make sure that I, too, will take away everything from him! He doesn't deserve the people around him!" the old man grunted with gritted teeth.

His veins were all popping out remembering how he lost everything because of Lucas. He would do everything in his last breath just to make that King suffer even if it would take him forever to torture the King till his last breath.

"Just make sure that you will not harm Cecilia's sons. I want them both safe. It's Lucas I'm after -- making him suffer and lose everything in his life till he goes crazy!"

"I understand. Both are safe. But one thing is that the Prime Minister… I'm not sure if we can still use him at this rate. The King is making his moves as well. What should we do with the Prime Minister's son? Should we make an example for him and show that we will show no mercy once they try to block our way?"

The old man released a heavy breath and said, "do what you need to do. Cut out unnecessary people already! They must know that we are not here to play around!"
