Chapter 194 – Mr. Lu, you’re so shameless (2)

“Miss Shen, you’re here. What a coincidence.”

Shen Weiyin stood in place. She watched Ye Zhen stride into the conference room and asked, “Mrs. Lu, what’s your business coming here?”

“Nothing much.” Ye Zhen slightly smiled. She sat down at the head of the conference table. She hadn’t closed the door on her way in, so the people in the office area outside the conference room as well as the people walking by could hear their voices.

Director Zhou wanted to close the door, but Ye Zhen stopped him. “Director Zhou, weren’t you talking about terminating the contract? Go on, continue.”

“This… Mrs. Lu, for you to be here while we’re discussing that, isn’t it…”

Ye Zhen smiled. “I own 10% of the company’s stocks. I could be considered a minority stockholder, right?”

“10… 10 percent?” This was outside of Director Zhou’s expectations.

“10%?” Shen Weiyin was incredulous.

“Grandpa gave them to me.” Ye Zhen downplayed how Old Master Lu had transferred her 10% of the company stock on her wedding day. She continued, “Go on, continue your discussion. I’m just here to listen.”

Shen Weiyin deeply sighed. With an unhappy expression, she said, “The company didn’t inform me in advance that they wanted to talk about terminating the contract today, so nothing has been prepared. If the company wants to terminate the contact with me, we’ll make an appointment for another day.”

“Miss Shen, your lawyer is here. What else do you need to prepare?”

Shen Weiyin’s lawyer was an experienced person and remained unflustered. The lawyer slightly smiled. “Mrs. Lu, regarding the termination of the contract, I need to go back and prepare for it.”

“May I ask what’s your last name?”

“My last name is Nan.”

Realizing who the lawyer was, Ye Zhen stood up and asked, “You’re that famous Lawyer Nan?”

Lawyer Nan humbly smiled. “I don’t deserve such praise.”

“Lawyer Nan, you’re being too humble. You’re renowned in your industry. None of the cases that you handled have failed, but…” She looked at Shen Weiyin. “I understand that your employer has recently suffered a lot of gossip that damages her reputation. Lawyer Nan, how do you plan on resolving this?”

“Gossip?”

Ye Zhen smiled as she handed her phone to Lawyer Nan. The phone screen was full of articles gossiping about Shen Weiyin and Lu Beichuan.

Lawyer Nan glanced at the screen, then looked at Shen Weiyin. “This…”

If Shen Weiyin still couldn’t see why Ye Zhen had come here today, then she would have learned nothing from being in the entertainment circle for the past several years.

“It’s a bunch of fabricated gossip. They’re just paying attention to it because it’s popular right now. I never mind this sort of thing. If you pay attention to this sort of thing, it’ll only make them heady with success. Miss Ye, you haven’t been in the entertainment industry, so you don’t know any better.”

Ye Zhen contemplatively nodded. “Miss Shen, you said this is all just made up gossip. So this means you’re saying that the gossip about you being childhood sweethearts with my husband, Lu Beichuan, is all fake?”

There was a bustling crowd gathered outside the conference room. Shen Weiyin gave a vague answer, “If Miss Ye wants to know, you should go ask your husband.”

“I already asked him. He said that there’s nothing between the two of you. That’s why I’m here to ask you, are my husband’s words true, Miss Shen?”

She was directly confronting her.

In a sunken voice, Shen Weiyin answered, “Yes, it’s true.”

“It seems that it really is these tabloids messing around. Since you’re confirming that you and my husband aren’t childhood sweethearts, then all the stuff they wrote that’s based on that rumor is also false, right? The two of you haven’t pledged an oath of eternal love. Lu Beichuan isn’t infatuated with you. Nor has he been waiting for the past several years for you while you’ve been working hard on getting the title of film empress. All of that is fake news, right?”
