The three of them flew at top speed toward the location indicated by the divine talismans. The divine talismans were still glowing, which meant that Yang Yuan was still alive but in a lot of trouble.

The crimson clouds surged overhead, and a plume of scorching flames suddenly burst forth before flying toward An Lin and the others, giving all three of them a huge fright as they lowered their flying altitude.

Not long after that, several Flying Flame Birds began to gather around An Lin and the others.

The three of them initially didn’t think much of this at first, but when the number of birds around them swelled to triple figures, they could no longer just ignore them.

“We can’t keep letting them gather, otherwise we’ll be buried!” Shangguan Yi turned and charged toward a bunch of Flying Flame Birds while wielding her longsword.

An Lin and Mo Hai also followed suit as they began to cut down the Flying Flame Birds around them.

The combined strength of three Soul Formation Stage cultivators took care of these weak Flying Flame Birds in no time.

“Hmph! What a bunch of ignorant wild chickens, how dare they even challenge someone as powerful as I am?” Mo Hai swung his crimson saber with a scornful expression.

“Perhaps it’s exactly because they are so weak that they are unable to comprehend just how powerful we are, thereby giving them the courage to challenge us…” An Lin raised his head to look into the sky above with a lonesome expression.

Mo Hai’s eyes immediately lit up as he committed this bada*s line to memory for his own use.

Shangguan Yi stared at them with an appalled expression, wondering to herself just what the hell the two of them were doing!

They were delayed slightly by the Flying Flame Birds, but it was nothing significant and they continued toward their destination.

Not long after that, the crimson clouds above them surged and several more Flying Flame Birds flew toward.

They immediately killed those before they had a chance to gather into triple figures yet again.

They soon welcomed the third wave of Flying Flame Birds…

An Lin and the others continued their killing spree!

They were then greeted by the fourth, the fifth and the sixth wave…

“F*ck, since when were there so many Flying Flame Birds in the Vermilion Bird Trial Grounds?!” An Lin exclaimed in frustration.

Shangguan Yi blinked with confusion. “There has always been a lot of them! I see them everywhere I go; they’re like mosquitoes and they’re always chasing me around, it’s really annoying!”

An Lin: “…”

Say, are we even in the same Vermilion Bird Trial Grounds?

He and Mo Hai had only encountered Flying Flame Birds once during their time here, so why was she constantly being chased around by them?

A thought began to slowly take shape in An Lin’s mind, and it soon became one that he couldn’t ignore.

“See what I was saying?” Mo Hai’s voice transmission sounded beside him.

An Lin was completely speechless. He finally understood how Shangguan Yi ended up being chased by an army of thousands of Flying Flame Birds.

At this rate, they would probably rack up a thousand Flying Flame Birds kills within two hours…

Thus, the three of them finally reached the southern border of the Vermilion Bird Trial Grounds with countless Flying Flame Bird carcasses in their wake.

A series of mountain ranges over thirty thousand feet tall extended as far as the eyes could see, completely obscuring everyone’s view from being able to see what laid in the southern region of the Vermilion Bird Trial Grounds on the other side.

An Lin and the others flew up along the side of the mountain when a huge rift suddenly appeared in the crimson clouds overhead.

A vast expanse of flames rained down like a dense waterfall, instantly encompassing an area of over a kilometer in radius.

All three of them were dumbstruck. What the hell was this?

The waterfall of flames descended upon them at an alarming pace, and they were no longer able to dodge.

An Lin was the first to recover his composure and expanded his brick before moving it to hover overhead.

“Come here, my brick will protect us!”

Mo Hai and Shangguan Yi immediately heeded his instructions, and the three of them gathered beneath the brick.

Boom…

The devastating force behind the waterfall of flames forced the black brick slowly downward as flames trickled down the sides of the black brick. The scorching temperatures threatened to suffocate all three of them, and Shangguan Yi and Mo Hai both set up defensive measures to keep the terrifying flames at bay.

The fearsome waterfall of flames persisted for a few minutes before finally subsiding. Fortunately, An Lin’s black brick was extremely heat-resistant, and the three of them weren’t turned into molten lava.

“Mr. An Lin, your brick is unexpectedly quite useful.” Shangguan Yi stared up at the black brick and nodded in approval with fear lingering in her heart.

“That’s true, it’s very ugly, but it’s very useful!” An Lin replied smugly.

Mo Hai looked up into the sky to find that the rift in the clouds had disappeared.

The crimson clouds had also turned black as if all the flame power within that patch of cloud had been exhausted.

He turned to An Lin and Shangguan Yi. “Time is of the essence, let’s make haste.”

The two of them both nodded in agreement, and they continued to scale up the side of the mountain.

They didn’t encounter any more mishaps from there and successfully arrived on the other side of the mountain.

An Lin looked up at the sky to find that the clouds were no longer crimson, but instead a dull gray. He couldn’t tell at what altitude these clouds floated, nor what could lie above them.

There was a series of white mountain ranges below stretching as far as the eyes could see. This was a very bleak and desolate white with zero plant-life. However, there was a series of rivers of molten flames which flowed through the mountains like a series of arteries and veins, creating a stark contrast between the dull white of the mountain.

An Lin and the others continued onward.

However, they soon encountered thousands of crimson bats flying toward them with their mouths wide open to reveal their vicious, sharp teeth. There were even a few earth fire mutant beasts and about a dozen spirit fire mutant beasts among their ranks.

“There’s too many of them, let’s run!” Mo Hai knew that they didn’t have time to waste fighting these mutant beasts so he immediately proposed an escape plan after discovering that these crimson bats were relatively slow.

An Lin and Shangguan Yi immediately followed along.

However, they had only traveled a few more kilometers before they stumbled into a lethal wind mystic realm.

Lethal winds were ever-present in this realm, and it required constant energy expenditure to keep them at bay. At this rate, they would run out of vital energy and be shredded to death in less than fifteen minutes.

Fortunately, Shangguan Yi discovered the center of the lethal winds which she then destroyed, and the lethal winds immediately subsided.

After flying for a further fifteen minutes, they then mysteriously stumbled into a lethal poison mystic realm…

The poisonous mist completely obscured their vision, and An Lin could only barely keep it at bay through the use of his Evergreen Technique. As for Mo Hai, he was a lot more unfortunate. Even after unleashing his domain as a defensive measure, the toxins still found a way into his skin, leaving him convulsing uncontrollably as his skin slowly turned green…

Fortunately, Shangguan Yi was able to trace the direction in which the poisonous mist was flowing and discovered the source of the poison, which was about a dozen earth fire poisonous spiders. She immediately slew them and saved all three of them from certain death.

In the end, the three of them discovered ten eighth-grade Golden Immortal Fruits in the spiders’ nest, of which Shangguan Yi took four and An Lin and Mo Hai pocketed three each.

An Lin and Mo Hai were both extremely impressed by Shangguan Yi’s resourcefulness and ability to think on her feet, to which she replied that she was already used to digging herself out of all manners of trouble. Her words brought tears to both An Lin and Mo Hai’s eyes.

What a strong woman!

The three of them finally made their way out from the lethal poison mystic realm but with great difficulty. However, they didn’t even get the chance to heave a sigh of relief when they encountered a stampede of over a thousand powerful mutant beasts heading right for them.

They encountered the stampede under “coincidental” circumstances.

Three extremely powerful heavenly fire mutant beasts flew in the air above, and there were about a dozen earth fire mutant beasts, over a hundred spirit fire mutant beasts, and over a thousand normal fire mutant beasts in hot pursuit behind them.

All of them stared at An Lin and the others with confusion and pleasure in their eyes right after the three of them re-emerged from the lethal poison mystic realm.

Mo Hai slapped his forehead and turned to An Lin with a resigned expression.

An Lin swallowed audibly. What the f*ck…

Were these really all coincidences?!
