" Good, It seems like you regained consciousness?" Samuel heard a voice.

" Where am I? How did I get here?" Upon hearing the voice, Samuel awoke to find himself surrounded by pitch black, just a little area illuminated by a ball of light.

" Don't you remember how you got here?" It was the ball of light that was talking to Samuel. Seeing Samuel not responding, it spoke again.

" This is your subconscious mind. Try to remember what happened." On its encouragement, Samuel decided to try.

His memory was hazy, but the pieces were coming back together. He focused on those memory fragments and remembered what had happened.

A few minutes earlier.

"Where is that waiter? I have to find him. I saw him heading toward Hannah." Just after he finished reading the message, he tried to find the culprit. He saw the same waiter again, but seeing his relaxed expression, Samuel knew that he was only a hired hand.

Besides, the waiter had already left the area and was busy serving others.

The time was also running out; he had to make his way toward his sister. Even if it was a prank, he had to take her away from the crowd to a safer location. It was good that she was already in a broad field, but that exposed her more.

Samuel activated all his titles; first, he spread the magic powers to their limit. It was a field that detected ill intentions and hidden enemies; it had a range of fifty meters. He was casually walking in Hannah's direction while observing everyone.

Nothing has come up yet. Was it a false alarm? Typically this should have worked. But his one worry was that the security could have been laxer than when they were busy finding the mastermind.

He was purposefully acting calm, but when he was only a few feet away, he detected something fast approaching his direction. With multitasking, he could make an immediate deduction; the target was not him but his sister.

He didn't have time to think about any solution. First, he squeezed every bit of magic molecules and tried to make some sort of protective barrier around himself. With that set, he threw himself toward Hannah, shielding it from whatever it was.

He felt a sudden push, after which an excruciating pain was in his chest. He struggled to stop himself from passing out because he detected another culprit.

He barely saw a man rushing toward their direction, there was something shiny in his hands, but before he could confirm it, everything went blank.

" Brother!" It was the last thing he heard before coming to this place.

" I remember. I have to go back; I have to save my sister!" Samuel shouted, but it was a pointless struggle.

" It should be the least of your worries right now. The bullet missed your heart and arteries by a few centimetres. You should consider yourself lucky that you are breathing, " the ball of light said.

" Bullet? How can I talk to you then? What about my regenerative power? Shouldn't I be healed? How can I be talking to you then, Apollo? More importantly, I saw the glimpse of someone rushing toward my sister; I need to go back!" Samuel said frustratingly. He saw no way out of this except if Apollo's help.

" What a restless child. Your regenerative title can't heal you with a foreign object in your body, and for the issue of how you could talk here. With your multitasking ability being on, the flow of time is slow here, but it's finite; it will run out eventually." Apollo explained.

"There has to be a way. You are my guide; please, you have to help me!" Samuel begged him.

It was true that Apollo was responsible for his well-being in this world, and if Samuel died here, Apollo would have nothing to say when meeting the other supreme gods. This put him in a strange dilemma, it was not impossible to help him, but he had to break some rules.

" Please!"

" Alright, this would have never happened if you trained your magical powers. You have been neglecting it for quite a while now. With proper training, such pesky mortal weapons would have been child's play for you." Apollo went into lecture mode, but he left it at that.

" Do as I say from now on. But never say a word to anyone; if other deities found out about it, I will be punished heavily."

" You have my word. I would do anything." Samuel regained some hope in his heart. He lamented that he had gotten complacent; as Apollo said, he had never tried to explore his magical powers.

" Ok. Listen up, you only have one thing to do, try to focus on the bullet; if you move it a few inches, the regenerative properties will kick in. I will take over another part of your brain to care for the perpetrator. We will only have a few seconds to do it." Apollo gave instructions.

Samuel didn't know how to do it, but he would try his best. He would do it even if he had to plunge the bullet with his hand.

" I will forcefully wake you up. Remember, we only have a few seconds; make it count." he reminded again.

" I am ready."

Samuel woke up, his mind was heavy, but he did as he was told. He never got to use his hand; he nudged the bullet with potent magic molecules and activated the healing powers.

At that moment, he saw Hannah's fearful face; she was trying to hold him up with her tiny arms. Suddenly Samuel's hand moved on his own as he pointed his finger toward the man who was still in the process of rushing toward them.

But right then, the space around him began to heat up. Samuel, with his half-closed eyes, witnessed something incredible. He saw a large amount of magic envelop the man, and with s simple hand gesture, everything caught on fire.

The heat was intense, but the fire rose; it completely latched into his body and began to burn violently. Unfortunately, Samuel was not able to see what happened next. His time was up; he only heard the gut-wrenching screams like a lullaby when darkness took over his mind.
