Growing Fond of You, Mr Nian

Jiang Qifei muttered, “How could it be? He was still at home today.”

Nian Junting sat opposite her, he was looking at Jiang Qifei.

Since he could remember, he always thought that Jiang Qifei looked demure and stylish even though she wasn’t the prettiest woman in the world. She would always put on elaborate makeup and dress in pretty clothes and accessories. She looked old and sixty now, it was obvious that someone had punched her and she also had red marks on her arms.

He thought to himself, Liao Qiulong is quite something.

He had already tormented her to this state in a short period. He remembered what Nian Xi said to him though, he didn’t want another lunatic like Zhong Yi to appear again.

“Don’t you understand? He doesn’t want to save you.” Nian Junting crossed his legs. “Liao Qiulong has seen plenty of beautiful women in his life. Young ones, fresh ones, but look at you now. No matter how hard you have tried to maintain yourself, you’re an old woman now.”

Jiang Qifei looked panicky. “No, it must be you. You must have said something to him. After he handed you the evidence, his attitude towards me took a nasty turn. He would use the whip on me often and hit me. He never gives me money to spend anymore and he fired the housekeeper at home. He expects me to cook and clean the house. He beats me when the food is unsatisfactory and he beats me when I don’t do a good enough job cleaning. Look, it has only been a few days and I’ve turned into this. I want to sue him; I want to sue him for domestic abuse.”

Nian Junting didn’t say anything, he had expected the same.

“A man that would abandon his own family, did you think he would be a decent man? I only told him facts, you were having an affair when you were still married before, weren’t you? Am I wrong to say that?”

Jiang Qifei glared at him and her voice was high pitched. “Your dad seduced me. I was in a happy marriage; do you think I wanted to cheat? It’s your dad’s fault for everything that happened today.”

Nian Xi covered her face. Nian Junting started dialing Nian Qingyun’s number secretly beneath the table.

He continued speaking to Jiang Qifei nonchalantly, “What are you going on about? My b*stard of a dad told us that you were the one who seduced him back then with your shyness. He didn’t say anything about seducing you.”

“He was the one who seduced me.”

Jiang Qifei seemed certain and started sobbing. “I was so naïve back then. Your Uncle Leng was like a block of wood, he wasn’t sensitive to my feelings at all but your dad was offeringoffered warmth and told me that he would treat me well. He told me that his heart and mind was filled by me and that he would marry me. I was too attracted by his sweet-talking. I’ve always recalled those moments with a lot of guilt but there is nothing I can do. The deed is done, my husband divorced me and my daughter has distanced herself from me. Yes, I did threaten Xu Luosang, but I just wanted to do something for Shuangwei as her mother. I just want her to be happy, you’ve never been a parent before, have you? Do you even know what I’m talking about?”

Nian Xi thought that she might have been quite moved by what Jiang Qifei said if she hadn’t talked about her dad so shamelessly.

She glanced over at Nian Junting’s phone and she wondered if Nian Qingyun would be so furious that he had to be admitted to the hospital.

Jiang Qifei was like his moonlight back then, kind and gentle. It was a rude awakening for him now to see what she was really like.
