Yan Su was surprised.

She knew that his noodles were tasty, but she didn’t know that he could make rice noodles too. His siew mai looked exactly like the ones sold in stores, so she had doubts about whether they were homemade or not.

“It is pretty tasty,” Yan Lv complimented him. “I thought he was just bragging last night. I didn’t expect him to really know how to cook.”

“Mm-hmm.” Yan Jin slurped down the noodles while nodding his head. “It’s even better than Mom’s!”

“You brat,” Jiang Peiying glared at him. “Auntie Wu told us that he woke up at six in the morning to make breakfast for all of us. When we woke up, the food was all ready to eat.”

“He is pretty good at cooking,” said Yan Su, nodding her head. “He’s very picky about food, so he tries all kinds of recipes and cooks his own dishes.”

Jiang Peiying looked up at her worriedly, “Are you captivated by his good looks and his good food?”

“… Of course not.”

The truth was that she really loved his stone-pot congee.

“Susu, you’re awake. Come have some breakfast,” Mo Liuxi said as he walked out of the kitchen with a stack of pancakes in his hands. “I made some North-eastern flaky pancakes as well—not sure if you’ll like how they taste.”

Jiang Peiying looked at it and she was astonished, “They look just like the ones they sell in stores!”

“Try it,” Mo Liuxi smiled as he placed the dish on the table. He dragged a chair over for Yan Su and poured some soy milk for her. “Baby, I haven’t made breakfast for you in a long time. Dig in.”

Yan Lv coughed and nearly choked on his food. He stared at them with his eyes wide open.

He thought to himself, “Are all youngsters this cheesy nowadays?”

Yan Su blushed and wished that he could be a little more reserved in front of her parents.

“What’s the matter?” Mo Liuxi acted surprised. “Susu gets so busy and she has to travel for work all the time. It’s difficult for me to find time to spend with her.”

“Oh, oh,” Jiang Peiying nodded her head.

They continued enjoying the breakfast that Mo Liuxi had prepared.

After breakfast, Yan Yan woke up. Mo Liuxi had quickly learned how to prepare his daughter’s bathwater and proceeded to wash her face and buttocks. He clumsily changed her diapers after.

It was his first time doing it so he did it slowly. Yan Yan got a little impatient and started wailing.

Mo Liuxi panicked immediately and mumbled, “Don’t cry, my darling baby. Daddy is just a little silly and clumsy…”

Yan Su found the whole scene funny but comforting at the same time. He looked like a pathetic servant in front of his daughter, very unlike his usual cool and aloof self.

When he was done, Mo Liuxi eagerly showed off to her, “Look Susu, I know how to change diapers now. It’s pretty simple.”

Yan Yan pooped again not too long after, so he had to grab some wet wipes to clean her up. As he was cleaning her up, he mumbled to himself again, “My darling baby’s poo-poo is not smelly at all—it smells so good. Daddy doesn’t mind at all…”

Yan Su was speechless.

At around eleven o’clock, several of her relatives had come over to visit. She had many aunties, and the villa was crowded with people.

Yan Su was famous now—all her relatives were vying to get a selfie with her so that they could show off to their friends online.

Yan Su was happy to cooperate.

Jiang Peiying was playing mahjong with a group of aunties in the living room. One of Yan Su’s aunties said curiously, “Hey, it’s strange, isn’t it? How do you have the time to sit down and play games with us this year? Yan Lv isn’t helping out either. Are you sure Auntie Wu can manage by herself?”

Jiang Peiying smiled a little. “What’s the rush? There will be food on the table for sure.”

Great Uncle was confused, “I just went to the bathroom, and I think I saw a young man doing some stir-frying back there with Auntie Wu. He looks pretty big and tall.”
