From Sidekick to Bigshot

Half an hour later.

“It’s done,” Jian Yiling said.

“It’s done?” Jian Yiheng asked.

Wasn’t this a bit too fast?

The operation was much shorter than Jian Yiheng and Jian Yichen had expected.

“Mhmm,” Jian Yiling replied.

Jian Yiheng turned his head to look at his shoulder. As there was a white cloth in the way before, he did not exactly see what Jian Yiling was doing.

However, the area was now bandaged. As a result, he could not see anything either.

As the anesthetic effect had not yet passed, he could not feel the pain yet.

And thus, Jian Yiheng basically had no idea of what had happened.

However, it was done now. Nothing else mattered.

Something that surprised Jian Yiheng was Jian Yiling’s reaction.

For the whole period of time, Jian Yiling was incredibly indifferent. She was calm when faced with his wounds and open flesh. And thus, she was a very qualified surgeon.

Jian Yiheng reevaluated his opinion of Jian Yiling. Although her face was much more delicate than the females he saw in his martial arts school, she was still quite impressive.

After the surgery, Jian Yiling once again took care of Jian Yiheng’s meals.

The dishes that she cooked for lunch and dinner no longer contained chili and cold foods. Instead, they were warm and nourishing.

However, Jian Yiling’s cooking remained delicious and varied. He was not tired of Jian Yiling’s cooking at all.

However, the next day, Jian Yiling did not cook for them. As a result, Jian Yiheng could only eat the takeaway ordered by Jian Yichen.

For some reason, Jian Yiheng felt that the takeaway did not taste good at all. Had he been spoiled by Jian Yiling? The dishes could not be compared to Jian Yiling’s cooking.

In addition, Jian Yichen did not tell Jian Yiheng why Jian Yiling did not come over today.

Jian Yiheng was quite curious. There were several times that he wanted to ask Jian Yichen about the matter. However, he resisted that urge.

In the end, he still ended up asking: “Why did she not come over today?”

“I guess she’s not feeling well,” Jian Yichen replied.

Upon hearing this, Jian Yiheng frowned. Then, he remembered the meals that Jian Yiling cooked him. As a result, he decided to head over to see her.

And thus, Jian Yiheng knocked on the door.

Zhai Yunsheng opened the door.

“What’s wrong with her? Is she not feeling well?” Jian Yiheng asked in a cold and hard voice.

However, this was already an improvement for Jian Yiheng. It seemed as though his opinion of Jian Yiling had changed quite a bit.

“She’s fine. You can go back,” Zhai Yunsheng replied in the same cold and hard tone.

“Where is she?” Jian Yiheng asked. He would not leave until he saw her.

“She’s in her room.”

“I want to see her.”

“No need.”

“You can’t stop me,” Jian Yiheng said confidently.

“Well, you can try.”

And thus, Jian Yiheng made a move. Zhai Yunsheng quickly dodged the punch.

Then, Zhai Yunsheng aimed a punch at Jian Yiheng’s chest.

Jian Yiheng blocked the punch.

The two of them fought with each other.

Both of them were incredibly agile. Their punches and kicks were strong and powerful.

And thus, they kept going back and forth. There was no clear winner or loser.

After a long time, Jian Yichen appeared. He hurriedly attempted to separate the two of them: “What are you guys doing?”

One just had surgery! The other one had a heart condition! Why were they fighting over here? Were they trying to give him a heart attack or something?

“If you guys continue to do this, I’m going to tell Yiling!” Jian Yichen threatened.

He did not know whether this threat was useful to his brother. However, he knew that it was useful for Zhai Yunsheng.

And thus, Zhai Yunsheng and Jian Yiheng stopped fighting.

After that, Jian Yichen looked at Zhai Yunsheng with amazement.

Even though his brother couldn’t use his left hand due to his surgery, Zhai Yunsheng still managed to tie a fight. As a result, Zhai Yunsheng was definitely not weak!

Was Zhai Yunsheng that good at fighting?

Wasn’t he a sickly person?

However, how could a sickly person still be so good at fighting?
