From Sidekick to Bigshot

Jian Yiling’s words made Shan Yurou’s eyes widen with surprise.

She quickly concealed the surprise in her eyes again. However, her reaction was still seen by Qin Yufan.

“You laid a trap for me and not Jian Yiling?”

Qin Yufan’s eyes turned ice cold. Her eyes seemed to be at the temperature of an icehouse.

“What? No way. Sister Fan, how could I harm you? I’ve always wanted to help you. I wanted to help you get Master Sheng’s heart and affection. I’ve never done anything else,” Shan Yurou hurriedly explained.

At this moment, Shan Yurou was no longer as assertive as before. Instead, she seemed to be like a puppy wagging her tail to please her master.

Jian Yiling quickly found fault in Shan Yurou’s words: “You’ve already contacted Zhai Yunsheng.”

Shan Yurou had already taken the initiative to contact Zhai Yunsheng. It was quite obvious what she hoped to achieve.

“What are you talking about? Who treats you as a pet?” Qin Yufan asked with a frown. She was quite surprised that Shan Yurou’s expression had suddenly become fierce and malevolent.

“And? Am I not even worthy to be your dog?” Shan Yurou laughed. “Yes. That makes sense. You’re the Young Lady from the Qin family! You’re born with power! You’re born with a silver spoon in your mouth!”

“Your family is also reputable and well-known in the capital. There’s no need for you to see yourself like that.”

“Reputable and well-known in the capital? We just depend on the Qin family! Ever since I was little, my parents have asked me to be friends with you! They asked me to be nice to you. They told me that my family depends on your family! If I offended you in any way, our family would be in ruin! And thus, I followed you every single day like a dog! When you were happy, I would wag my tail! When you were unhappy, I would be very scared and on the edge! I was afraid that I was the one who did something wrong!”

Shan Yurou was the same age as Qin Yufan. Before Qin Yufan skipped a grade, she had studied together with Shan Yurou as well.

Every day before she left home, instead of telling her to be safe, her parents had instead told her to be nice to Qin Yufan.

And she listened to her parents. She followed Qin Yufan everywhere.

However, Qin Yufan never even really looked at her.
