From Sidekick to Bigshot

"What's wrong?" Fei Qing asked as she noticed Bai Pinging breaking off all the corn kernels. She didn't seem like she was preparing ingredients. Instead, it seemed as though she was taking her anger out on the food.

"I feel angry whenever I look at Jian Yiling."

"Avoid looking at her then. Even if you look at her, you can't do anything. She's someone from Lahaisen Hospital's headquarters. She has more power than any of us," Fei Qing advised.

When Bai Pingping heard Fei Qing's words, she became even angrier: "Well, even if she's an amazing surgeon, she shouldn't abuse her power, no? I've never worked or done anything with her? Why should she be allowed to give me a bad evaluation?"

Even though a few days had passed since she heard about this, Bai Pingping became more and more depressed as she thought about it.

"Ahh, it's my bad. You were trying to defend me," Fei Qing said.

"Well, I only said a few sentences. Furthermore, I was objective with my statements. I didn't swear at her. If she doesn't agree with my words, she could state her point directly. She doesn't need to make these moves behind my back."

"Ahh, forget it. Let's continue with our barbecue. Don't let the others hear our conversation."

However, Bai Pingping could not swallow the anger in her heart.

Even if Fei Qing could accept and put up with this, Bai Pingping couldn't.

And even if she couldn't change her assessment results, she had to do something with the anger boiling inside of her.

She, Bai Pingping, was never someone who would willingly accept being bullied or wronged.

Ever since childhood, no one was able to bully her and retreat unscathed.

Even though Bai Pingping was seated beside Fei Qing, her attention was always on Jian Yiling.

Jian Yiling's every move and action did not escape her eyes.

Later at night, the employees lit up a bonfire in an empty field and held a bonfire party.

Bai Pingping waited for a long time and finally saw an opportunity where Jian Yiling was by herself.

When she saw Jian Yiling leave, Bai Pingping began to follow her.

Bai Pingping followed her all the way into the reedy grasses next to the lake.

After she entered that space, Jian Yiling took out her computer and sat down. It seemed as though the bonfire party was too noisy and affected her thinking. As she tapped away at her computer, Jian Yiling seemed to be busy at work.

As she was concentrating, she didn't notice that someone was following her.

After Jian Yiling sat down, Bai Pingping gritted her teeth and then took out the brown glass bottle from her backpack. She opened the bottle and then rushed up to Jian Yiling in an attempt to pour the liquid onto her.

As she rushed toward Jian Yiling, Jian Yunnao suddenly appeared in front of Jian Yiling. He shielded her from the liquid inside the brown glass bottle.

The liquid soaked Jian Yunnao's head, neck, and back.

"Yiling, are you alright?" Jian Yunnao asked as he looked down at Jian Yiling.

He came out to look for Jian Yiling. However, he noticed that Bai Pingping was following her. Before he got the chance to figure out what Bai Pingping was doing, he saw her take out a bottle and attempt to pour it onto his sister.

At that moment, Jian Yunnao's mind went blank.

However, his body reacted instinctively.

"I'm alright," Jian Yiling replied as she looked at Jian Yunnao.

As Jian Yunnao slowly let go of Jian Yiling, he touched his back and neck.

It seemed like he felt nothing?

"I'm… Alright?" Jian Yunnao exclaimed. He didn't know what was inside that brown bottle. However, he instinctively thought that it was something bad.

"You're alright," Jian Yiling confirmed.

After all, she knew what liquid was dripping down on Jian Yunnao's body.
