Fallen Fate Online
88 Explosion
Crackle.
Rea's back hit the rock, and her gaze quickly went blank. A few swift and precise blows from Enar, did enough to make her unconscious and able to barely breathe for a short time.
Enar looked at Zayne, who was trying to recover from the hardest blow of his life, at the same moment, a massive shadow with a blue sword appeared behind Enar.
"Oh, you're already here. It only took you a few seconds, great speed." Enar turned his body around and took a step back, letting the long sword pass right in front of him.
"Bastard... You will answer for what you have done!" Roland exclaimed furiously as the runes on his sword glowed brightly.
"Well, given your capabilities, your chances of winning are pretty slim. I hate to break it to you, but neither you nor this guy will leave here alive. It's my job, you must understand." Enar shrugged nonchalantly as Roland brought his sword down on him.
Enar took a step back, and the blade went right in front of him, just a millimeter short of reaching him.
"You still don't seem to take us seriously. You may be strong, but you shouldn't forget that you're in the middle of a deadly battle and not your average workday!" Roland frowned.
"Deadly combat... but for whom? The odds of me dying in combat with you are 0%, exactly 0%, no more." Enar shrugged.
"Hah, your arrogance will ruin you." Roland smirked confidently as a wide vertical cut opened on Enar's cheek, gushing blood.
Enar touched it and looked at his blood-covered fingers with a dark look, "You've already damaged me twice... Since when did Knight Commanders become so capable? Well... it seems I'm going to have to stick around, and while I'm at it... there's something I need to take care of."
Roland was puzzled, he thought Enar would be furious or at least angry about it, but his opponent's reaction was very different. Enar looked like a worker who had come to terms with the fact that he was going to have to stay late for overtime.
"Stop messing with me!" Roland exclaimed, swinging his sword upright.
Whooooooooooosh.
Enar jumped up, passing the sword over himself and landing right on the blade with a bored look.
"Jokes? I'm not joking at all. The failure of these stupid monsters has given me more work to do, but I know how to save time. I have to be practical, and do several things at once. That's probably one of the best pieces of advice I ever got." Enar shrugged and bounced back.
Whooooooooooooooosh.
At the same moment, a hint of seriousness appeared deep in his gaze as his aura intensified. He lunged toward the corpse of the Orc Leader in a fiery flash, paying no attention at all to Roland or Zayne.
"Agh... What the hell is he going to do?" Roland muttered in confusion.
Enar stopped at Turgan, but it wasn't the big monster that was his target, it was the massive cleaver that he quickly lifted from the ground and gripped the hilt tightly.
"It will take a lot of energy to activate the Chaos Hearth, but I'm not going to waste my mana on it... After all, it's not my downfall." Enar muttered a dark look as the cleaver in his hand glowed brightly.
The metal quickly heated to red, then Enar bent backward and threw the cleaver forward like a spear with all his might.
"No way..." Roland's eyes went wide as he realized what was about to happen.
Crackle.
The flaming cleaver slammed into the stone pillar that closed the passage and reached the piles of coal that had fallen during the killing of the first Orc-Mage. The fire and mana caused a spark which led to a devastating explosion.
Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.
The flames spread around, opening a passageway for the hundreds of Orcs who had been trying to make their way in for a long time.
There were no more Mages among the Orcs, for Zayne and the others had killed them all, but the multitude of strong Orcs with sharp swords and axes were a formidable force in any case.
"How many of them..." Roland muttered with a gulp as his heart clenched with fear. Roland was worried that they might have lost to Enar, but now... he realized that against the Orcs, the two of them had no chance.
"Raka!!!" One of the Orcs exclaimed, pointing at Roland.
"Fo! Rako!" The other Orc did the same, but his sword was pointed at Enar, who was standing next to the body of their leader.
The Orcs were puzzled, they didn't understand who their enemy was, and it gave Roland hope.
'Wait... Though there is little chance of that, I can try to change their minds, right? If the Orcs will fight against Enar, it will definitely help us...' Roland pondered, trying to think of a plan.
'Raka! Rakko! Raka! Fuko!"
The Orcs argued amongst themselves, and after a short conversation, they looked at Roland and Enar, with evil smirks, holding their weapons in their hands.
"Agh... Are these bastards determined to deal with both of us?" Roland recoiled back with a chill running down his spine.
Step. Step. Step.
The orcs moved forward with their entire army, gradually closing in on them and leaving the empty passageway behind.
Enar nodded slightly as if he had been waiting for this moment.
"Now that you're all here, it's time for you to be punished for your failure." Enar said calmly as his ring glowed.
An unusual, red, palm-sized skull appeared in his hand. The skull looked like a simple trinket, but Zayne and Roland felt an eerie aura emanating from this artifact.
'Damn... What the hell is that...?' Zayne asked himself as he got goosebumps. He wiped the blood from the corners of his mouth and sighed, 'Looks like... This is going to be even worse than I imagined. Shit, that punch almost knocked me out, and yet he still has artifacts? How do I beat him?!'
"RAKO!!!" The orcs exclaimed cheerfully, anticipating the battle and their victory. They chose Enar as their first target since he was near the corpse of their leader.
However, Enar wasn't paying attention to them at all. He looked at the skull with narrowed eyes, "I didn't think I'd have to do this, but I don't feel like carrying coal at all."
Enar raised his sleeve to elbow level and brought his wrist to the skull's mouth.
Crackle.
Suddenly the skull's eyes lit up with red fire as a clock-shaped symbol appeared on its forehead, then without delay the skull's jaw thrust into Enar's hand, absorbing the blood.
"Hey, that should be enough for you, isn't it?" Enar frowned and looked menacingly at the skull as if he was going to break it at any moment.
"Hehehe... Wouldn't let me absorb even one extra drop. Do you really have to be so greedy?" Skull grinned evilly and let go of Enar's hand.
"Get to work, you're only an ordinary artifact, don't forget that." Enar said coldly.
Skull grinned broadly and quickly flew upward. It looked deviously at everyone in the room, and the clock mark on its forehead glowed brightly.
Whoooooooooooosh.
At the same moment, a scarlet magic circle with many ancient symbols appeared across the room, causing Zayne and Roland to shiver.
[You found yourself in sight of the Bloody Skull!]
[Do your best to prevent Blood Skull's projectile from reaching you or you will be sacrificed to the arrival of the Chaos Hearth!]
[Warning!]
[Fate's Power deep within you will protect you from the Blood Skull's sight!]
'I will be protected... but what about the others?!' Zayne inwardly exclaimed as he turned to Elin.
