CHAPTER 348 - Defending Him

With the celebrations coming in handy, she did not bother about the several other problems she had to face at the moment and decided to let her brain relax as her health had been stressed during this period.

Smiling at those who came, Andromeda was the first to dig into the celebration mood before the others followed.

On the other hand, Fang Mei could not believe everything she worked hard for fell under before she could do anything to counter the situation.

She had hoped to use this case to ruin Andromeda but at the moment, she was the one ruined instead.

Walking into the living room, the one thing she had not expected was to witness her husband watching the news – one particularly on the same daughter he threatened to disown.

The intense look in his eyes as he peered closer at the television screen made her wonder why he would be focused on the matter.

"Someone wanted to make her suffer," Kai Beifang expressed out loud and leaned back into his seat, releasing a deep sigh.

"And why are you bothering with the issue?" Fang Mei questioned.

Wanting to use whatever influence she had on her husband again to cover his interest, she walked over to the chair he sat on and sat beside him.

"Honey," her sultry voice called out.

"Hmm?"

"Why bother with her? She has always made you feel less than the father that you are. Ignore her matter and you will not get pissed off."

The words had barely left her lips when Kai Beifang snapped his head in her direction, glaring at her.

"What?"

"Are you okay?"

Her eyes narrowed at him. What did he mean by that?

"Isn't she, my daughter?"

"And did you not clearly state that you were going to disown her?"

"Does that mean I should ignore whatever predicament she faces? Or that I should not be concerned with her matters?"

Fang Mei lifted her brows at him. Could he even hear himself just now?

"Sometimes I wonder if you reason with your brain or your hand. What does it mean to disown? In fact, you have the television to yourself. Do as you please. But remember, do not come knocking on my door or running to me when this same stupid daughter of yours is disrespectful to you anymore."

Letting her angry gaze wash over him, she rose to her feet and stormed off.

She had hoped to let out her anger and make him see Andromeda as a bad person, cheating her way through trials but everything changed.

'It seems this old soul still has fatherly love left for his daughter. We will need to work things out and change that. The only ones you should love are Kai Chen and Fang Daiyu. They have remained loyal and by your side. Not Andromeda who abandoned you.' She dissed inwardly as she made her way up.

As happy as Liu Xueyi and the others were, some other businesses needed to be seen too.

One thing was sure though, Liu Jinchen still wasn't happy that his son was made to stand trial while defending Andromeda.

He hated any problems being tied to the Liu family.

"Relax. Be happy that this matter was resolved with ease," Liu Jialing said with a smile.

"You call that ease? They barely had enough time to get all the pieces of evidence. One slip up and you will not be this cheerful with your son behind bars."

"I will do anything to prevent that," Liu Jialing intercepted.

When it came to her children, she could be vicious, just like the determined look in her eyes now.

"And Andromeda?"

"The girl has done nothing," she defended.

"She is a ticking time bomb."

"But our son loves her. Xueyi adores Andromeda so much and will do anything for her. If nothing proves it, this trial does so as well."

"This is just one step. Many more will come."

"Let them come."

"Would he be able to stand by that love then?"

"Are you doubting your son? You, more than anyone, know just how determined he is when it comes to anything he sets his mind on. After his last relationship, you saw how heartbroken he was."

"Yes, and after we thought she was a good girl, she broke his heart and ran away. I would have ruined everything working for her had he not begged me to," Liu Jinchen breathed out.

His nostrils flared as he locked his paws into pugilistic projectiles.

"I do not want him going through so much ache while battling so much out. Testing his love and…"

"Let them test his love for her. I have faith in my son. He will never waver. He will sacrifice all to stand by her. I can see it in his eyes."

"And as a mother, you will let him risk all for one woman?"

"I will let him do whatever he feels is right and guide him. I will support him. And I will aid their fight in battles till they win."

Liu Jinchen sighed. His wife was equally as stubborn as he was if not more.

She usually kept a calm front but when her mind was made up on something, she stuck by it no matter what.

"Woman, you are edging him on."

"As all parents should. I celebrate when he does, weep when he does, push him up when I should and guide him when he needs it. I will not be the stumbling block in his relationship."

"Hmm."

"I did not have one when I married you."

"You were clean and so was I."

"And so is Andromeda, Jinchen. She is a girl who has lost. I will not let her lose my son too."

"But…"

She held her palm in front of her and silenced him involuntarily. "My word is final. Do not go messing things up. If he gets heartbroken, I will destroy your heart too. Hmph!"

Saying that Jialing rose to her feet, letting her hands drop to her side, sent him a warning gaze and then marched off.

Rather than feel the dread she planned on sending, he chuckled to himself and shook his head.

"Drama queen."
