Emperor's Reckoning
914 Two Guests From Second Heaven
Inside Garuda City.
The phenomenal city had experienced firsthand Lyon's magic and prowess. The entire landscape was changed because of his erotical act. This was the place people believed to have the highest chance of seeing Lyon in person.
The famous city rose even more as Porealus one of the Three Great Families expanded Lyon's with paragon elaboration. How he stood amongst the gods in heaven, how he slayed the entire assailant of orcs, and how he made maidens weep their tears over the sacrifice he made for journeying the unknown Dark Continent for the sake of a woman. Though all were true, some were exacerbated lies. Nevertheless, the entertainment surrounding his being was never lacking.
Zet, the young boy genius with a sword was armored by Lyon's own effortless way of using the sword. Ivy was rumored to be having an inevitable crush on Lyon as well. However, the legend of his feat only continued as trouble seem to be brewing from a mischievous young master he had once made an acquaintance with in First Heaven.
Inside the mansion of Garuda City, Garuda's bed-chamber.
Garuda was looking over the window as dawn approached. The beautiful city had never seen such prosperity before, but his eyes have succumbed as swirling troubles made his forehead filled with creases.
A butler knocked on the opened door before saying, "Sir Garuda, the guests awaited your arrival."
Garuda turned before giving him a firm nod. He walked past the butler before pausing, "Do they, look different somehow?"
"I, I must apologize but they do seem like we are beneath them."
"Through the gaze?"
"Through the gaze, sir," the butler nodded.
"Alright, don't let my daughter out of the room," said Sir Garuda.
"Yes sir, but, what about Sir Jugen and Lady Karina?" asked the butler.
"They are also guests, honorable guests, they can do as they please," said Garuda before leaving the butler. Walking alone in the hall he noticed a familiar figure leaning by the wall.
"Mind if I join you?"
"Yunesia? I thought you were out of the city."
"An interesting guest from afar came for a visit, no make that two," said Yunesia with a playful smile, "Surely I can't miss this."
"Perhaps it's for the best, I don't think I can handle such presence from the both of them alone," said Garuda.
"Then why don't you invite the young masters, such as Porealus, diplomatic wise, he is the most suitable."
"His arrival will attract unnecessary attention, after all, they came with little to no silhouette considering where they came from."
"True, looks like you haven't dulled one bit," said Yunesia.
"Without Lyon, I would have died," Garuda smiled before both of them stood in front of the door that led toward the guest. He took a breath before pushing the door forward.
Two figures were already sitting on the sofa. One had a wrinkled face as one braced the test of time and most importantly, his head could reflect the sunlight without any hard effort. His beard was as long as their wisdom, but he wore a set of uniforms with a particular insignia etched on the right chest.
The other one was younger and radiating youth. He had not a single facial hair with a slender build. His hair was brown as grizzly's fur and his eyes were sharper than a dagger. His brows frowned with his arms crossed. He stares deep into Garuda's eyes before asking, "Are you the owner of the city?"
Garuda frowned, he clearly didn't accept the tone he was given. He sat down opposite them and noticed the cups were full of tea.
"That's an interesting question," said Yunesia.
"And who are you, to speak on his behalf?" said the young man.
"Her name is Yunesia," said Garuda. "I see that you haven't taken a single sip from our finest tea."
"This is finest?" the young man raised his brows as he leered at the cup of tea. He snorted.
"Now, now Judsah, let's not be rude," said the old man. 'I'm here to look for the man called Lyon Torga."
"Well, you are searching for Mortal World's hero, it would be quite hard," said Garuda with a smirk.
"Hero or not, we are here to find him," said Judsah. "We've heard that this place is our best chance to find him."
"That's correct," Yunesia nodded. "This is the best place to find him."
Judsah frowned. "Are you trying to irritate me, let me tell you, it won't end well."
Yunesia kept her smile despite her heart trembling. "I... apologize for my rude tone."
"As it should be," said Judsah.
( This old man is no different either. He didn't sip the tea and he didn't even try to stop this young man from being rude, damn people with high status ) thought Garuda. "What makes the Second Heaven interested in our hero?"
"It is a private matter," answered the old man.
"I'm afraid that you will not get far with that attitude," said Garuda.
"Watch your tone, Garuda," said Judsah.
Garuda shrugged, "You have no idea what you're dealing with."
"Do you want me to humiliate you in front of your own people?" asked Judsah.
"I'm afraid that I'm not speaking for myself here," said Garuda. "With that attitude, Lyon wouldn't even bother."
"Heh," Judsah smirked. "As much as the hero he is, he is still from the Mortal World."
"Calm down, Judsah," said the old man. "It's young master Mavis's recommendation, we can't talk about him that lightly."
"But it's young master Mavis," said Judsah. "Is this one of his pranks again?"
"I..."
"C'mon principal, you ought to know better," said Judsah.
"Mavis..." Yunesia muttered. "I think I've heard that name before."
"He is the young master of the Sky Clan of Sixth Heaven," said the old man.
( Principal... oh this is getting complicated ) thought Garuda. "We can't disclose his position to you."
Judsah frowned. "Are you challenging the Second Heaven's authority?"
"Why not?" asked the old man. "Surely you can give young master Mavis some face?"
"That's because nobody knew when he would return," said Garuda.
"Return?" the old man raised his brows. "Where has he gone to?"
"A faraway place," said Yunesia before quickly adding, "However, knowing him, he will return here, for the reason his journey is here in this place, or should I say the garden."
"The garden?" Judsah raised his brows before he stood up and approached the window nearby. There he saw a silhouette hidden under the shadow of the canopy of the three. "A woman?"
"Hm, excuse me," said the principal before standing up from the sofa and approaching the window. "Indeed, a woman."
"What is so special about this woman," said Judsah.
"Well for that, you have to hear the stories about Lyon's recent feat, the one that made him a hero," said Garuda. "I hope that you're not in a hurry, because we have prepared rooms for you two, in case you want to hear the story of course." he laughed.
"We are not in a hurry," said the old man but, save the story for another time. The old man looked at the woman under the canopy before he tried to probe her cultivation level. "Hm... crippled?"
"What?" Judsah raised his brows before he probed as well. "Principal, is this Lyon guy nuts? Why would he go far away for this crippled woman?"
"I cannot undermine that possibility, but this is young master Mavis's recommendation," said the principal.
"But..."
"We plead to him to be our teacher at the school but he said that he cannot interfere directly with the problems there," said the principal. "Then, a name popped up and here we are."
"And you agree to him just like that?"
"Of course not! I asked him who is this Lyon Torga that he recommended," said the old man.
"Then?"
"In his own word, I quote, 'Lyon Torga is a fun guy, I'm sure you can get along with him if you don't do something stupid.'"
"That's really young master Mavis's words," muttered Judsah. "But surely there is something else?"
"Indeed," the old man nodded. "'He might be just the one you need to raise that class. I'm sure that he would do it, he owed me a favor.'"
"That didn't help," Judsah sighed. "I wish young master Mavis could slightly be like young master Yuri. But, you sure have it tough, to handle all those young masters at once."
"I seek harmony in the school," the principal sighed. "However, that class's talent is..."
"Trash," Judsah sighed. "I wonder why young master insisted on keeping that class open. Why does he hope for underdogs so much?"
The old man opened his mouth but his words stuck in his throat as the tremendous roar of the people trembled the city.
"W-What happened?" the old man turned around.
"Did you count your stars?" Garuda smirked before standing up. "It seems like the one you're waiting for has returned."
Meanwhile, under the canopy of the three. The woman who sat cross-legged had a smile on her face.
