Emperor's Reckoning
895 Going Back to Myriad Devils
Somewhere inside the Myriad Devils.
Inside a room where no one was allowed to enter without permission, was a gorgeous woman of luxury. She was sitting by a huge window facing the endless horizon, however, her grunts quickly pulverized her cold beauty.
Under the luxury-adorned ceilings; she was clenching her teeth as she caught for breath. The veins in her throat bulged as she kept her jaws mewed. Her eyes were glaring as blood dripped on the floor.
"Is it over yet?!" She said, with her glance refusing to face the woman attending her wound.
"It's growing back," the woman said, with cold sweat already drenching her forehead.
"Hurry up!" the gorgeous woman replied.
"I-I'm trying my best, Miss Farash," said the physician before gulping down her saliva. She stole a glance to look at the Water Guild's leader's face holding the pain before looking back down at the wound. The arms were not there and the shock of the view still lingered inside the physician's mind. She had never seen a powerful being in such a dire situation before; the latter was sitting on the floor and couldn't even weep her own tears. It was a pitiful sight that clutched her soul with unbound fear.
"It's molding back, Miss Farash, just a little more," said the physician.
"It's not going to ease me," said Farash, with her brows trying to squeeze her glabella out. Her teeth gritted.
After a few hours passed by, the magic brand dissipated and dimmed the lightning of the room by a bit.
"Phew!" the physician quickly wept off the cold sweat on her forehead with a nearby warm towel. She was panting but did it under the towel. She knew she was not the one that felt the most pain at the time. She looked at Farash with a sigh of relief, "It's done, Miss Farash, I managed to regrow your arm."
Farash breaths gradually returned to normal as her temple was drenched with cold sweat. The sweet sensation of reward occupied her senses. Once her nose started to take control of her breath, she closed her eyes and slowly pull her hands up right in front of her. Her fingers slowly moved individually before she let out a huge sigh of relief. She opened her eyes and saw her beautiful hands greeting her.
"Miss Farash, you will now enter a fatigue stage; you should rest, for the time being, otherwise, you might delay your full recovery," said the physician.
"I know that," said Farash before standing up only to feel no strength in her arms.
"Miss Farash!" the physician quickly supported her out of the fall.
"T-Thank you," said Farash without even sparing a glance at her.
"En," the physician replied with a smile before guiding her to the bed.
Farash sat on the bed before letting out a sigh of relief. "You have seen the worst of me."
"We all have our time to be at the weakest, Miss Farash," answered the physician before gulping, "Though, I do wonder what happened to you? A lot of witnesses saw you being in the hall, but I never thought that you would be in your room; where have you gone?"
Farash let out a sigh, "To a path of a lesson, a hard lesson."
"A lesson? Did you have an encounter with a strong beast?" the physician said, with blatant anxiety shrouding her face.
Farash shook her head, "More like a monster."
"T-Then, we need to inform the others at once!" said the physician.
Farash shook her head after saying, "No."
"Eh?" the physician's had her eyes shrunk at the latter's answer.
Farash let out a sigh, "That monster can not be fought on even ground, for it's a virtuous monster."
"A what?"
"It was my fault in the first place; I invited danger even though I know that it would hurt me," Farash smiled, "However, I do love the small chance that was offered."
"Miss Farash..." the physician muttered.
Farash made a wry smile before averting her glance toward the window. "She didn't even hesitate to cut me down."
"She?" the physician frowned, "It was a woman? Is it from the opposing guilds?"
"No, it's from Lyon's group," Farash answered.
"L-Lyon?! That magnanimous vagrant adventurer?" exclaimed the physician.
"Magnanimous?" Farash raised one of her brows before she chuckled. "Where did that come from?"
"Everyone has been talking about him nonstop! His name has created waves that no one in this world has ever made; his achievement is out of this world, an instant hero in the hearts of old, and a legend in the hearts of the young."
"Your eyes are gleaming, even your hands are clasped, did you notice that?" Farash chuckled.
"Oh?!" the physician's cheeks were redder than a can of tomatoes. "S-Sorry."
"No need to apologize, after all, he is that amazing, correction, he and his party," Farash sighed. ( Though, his women were not just good looks, one of them even soloed a Seraph Cultivator from Paradise ). Her thought made her shiver as she remembered how Selena outmatched a cultivator that was deemed to be the ultimate entity for some.
"I know right," the physician sighed. "How is he even that powerful to begin with."
"Unless you want to beat him, there is no need to know where his powers come from," Farash smiled.
"No, no, no, Miss Farash; I was just curious as to why did he show up all of the sudden, and his arrival also coincidentally matched with the danger that arose in Myriad Devils," said the physician
"Are you trying to make a conspiracy theory?" Farash furrowed her brows. ( It would be bad if Lyon know about this, especially if she knew about this ).
"N-No, I'm just curious," the physician made an innocent chuckle.
"You better stop doing anything funny regarding Lyon and his party," Farash frowned. "You might regret it with your life."
"Eek!" the physician immediately shut her mouth.
Farash sighed, "Just stop thinking about it."
"Yes, Miss Farash, I'm sorry," said the physician with her head bowed down in guilt.
"There is no need to apologize," Farash shook her head. "Nobody would believe in such theory anyway; the fact that it exists means that he is that strong to begin with."
"What about the rest of the guild leaders?" asked Farash whilst she rested her head on a soft goose feathers pillow.
"White Crow is still recuperating as he should; he still laughed but he couldn't grin for a long time without feeling the sting. Sakya of the Flame Guild, her whereabouts are unknown but witnesses saw her roaming the town with a sour face. Moris is still exhausted from the use of Immortal Spell grade magic; he may be out for two more weeks."
Farash chuckled, "The battle from the other night still lingered inside everyone's mind and body it seems, then what about Baiyun? If you don't already know, he had some little grudge in his condescending eyes of his whenever he saw Lyon."
"If one was not gullible, one would see that Baiyun is nothing but a man trying to give a perfect picture to the world that he projected," the physician sighed.
Farash smiled wryly. ( Sounds more like Paradise's trait ). She turned the other side before asking her, "He is not scheming anything, right? You know how Harp Guild works, they saw victory over everything; moral worth nothing in their environment."
( Talk about irony ) thought the physician.
"We have found nothing suspicious around him, though his face could be better."
"Hm? What's wrong with his face?"
"He doesn't seem to be as gleaming as before, we often found him frowning," said the physician.
"Hahaha," Farash laughed whilst clutching her pillow. "Looks like his narcissism finally crashed against a thick wall, no, an insurmountable mountain."
"Are you talking about Lyon's presence?" asked the physician.
"What else could gloom him over? Do you think that he actually cares about the adventurers or the city? He is just a greedy little kid that wants to gobble up praises."
"That's... disheartening."
"There is a lot more than meets the eye," said Farash with a smile before her ears perked up. A small commotion reached her room before she and the physician turned to the window.
"What happened?" Farash asked.
"I'm not exactly sure," the physician frowned. "Though a lot of them seem to be going toward the entrance gate."
"What? Help me get up, I need to see."
"Ah yes!"
Farash was guided by her physician to the window before her eyes sharpened. Her lips turned into a smirk. "No wonder, that guy is back."
At the gate were a lot of adventurers gathering with brimming faces as they saw the party coming to their town. A man that always had confidence projected by a smirk had come back with his party. The one that was once dubbed the Grand Adventurer, a title only buried in lost history.
"This is too much of a welcome," Lyon smiled wryly seeing the masses waiting at the gate.
