Emperor's Reckoning

788 Next Destination: Dark Continent!!

The dark elf's vision gradually turned more bokeh the more he blinked his eyes. His chest slowly sunken and he could hear his own heartbeat gradually trailing away into emptiness. His eyes still stared in disbelief before Assid pulled out his fingers.

Blood spurted out from the holes in his throat the instant nothing was clogging it. His muscles weakened as his meridians dimmed out. His cultivation level dropped at a significant rate before the top half of his body fell to the side. He looked at the young man that had bested him, the man that correlate to the one in the story his late grandfather told him. (I met him, grandfather, just like you did).

He closed his eyes before thudding against the soft ground. (The world will return, if what you told me were true, then the world will return, sad, I can't see our ancestral home if only I didn't rush my dream, I could have joined them instead of against them, now I pay the price, but it will be nothing compared to—). He gave out one last smile.

"You killed him," Galaeron frowned before he darted at Assid who threw away his stained gloves.

"Emperor's order," Assid took out a fresh new glove. "Besides, he is not really that important in unsealing the door," He turned and then adjusted his glasses.

"PLEASE!!"

Connak and Agist had their heart leaped out against their rib cages. Their pupils shrunk to a dot as their brows reached the ceiling. Their king, their indomitable king, had his creased forehead planted against the hard rock ground. He was the symbol of the elven kingdom, if he kneel, so did the entire kingdom. Now, the very man they looked up to was kowtowing to a race he detested in his spare time. Pleading, for something that was out of his power to a fairly young man whose name was unheard of a year ago.

"PLEASE EMPEROR LYON, I BEG OF YOU NOT TO UNSEAL THE DOOR TO HELL!" Galeron begged all his might.

His begging words echoed throughout the forest below and the corpses before eventually reaching Jugen's and Yoji's ears.

"Huh?" Jugen raised his brows.

"Heh, the proud elf eventually gives in."

"What?"

"The king of the elven kingdom is kowtowing at him," Yoji smirked. "Come, we shall be present as well, you don't want to miss this dopamine."

"What— woah wait!" Jugen was unprepared before the Tetragram Chariot galloped into the air.

Lyon frowned before he lightly pushed Kesya away from the embrace.

"I beg of you, Emperor Lyon. Think about the Mortal World, think about Nostria," said Galaeron as the cold sweat from his temples started trailing to his hair.

"What makes you think that those cultivators behind the door want to ravage the land in Mortal World?" asked Kesya. "Don't you realize, some hidden doors are already open and we can go there without unsealing anything."

"We could?" Lyon raised his brows.

"What?!" Galaeron looked up in disbelief. "But..."

"Big Brother, are you going to Hell?" asked Jugen.

(That does not really ring right in my ears but) Lyon turned and nodded. "I have to go there, and I'll bring her with me too."

"You want to bring her too?" Jugen frowned.

"I have to bring her there, otherwise who in the Mortal World could heal her severed arm? My mana won't work," Lyon shook his head, "Besides, I've been to Heaven, why not go sightseeing in Hell?"

"Apologies my Emperor," Assid knelt by the side.

"Hmm?" Lyon turned. "What is it Assid?"

"We might not have to go to Hell at the moment, perhaps the Dark Continent can help us."

"The Dark Continent?" Lyon raised his brows.

"The Dark Continent?!" Galaeron exclaimed. "That's a notorious place of the unknown, they detached themselves from worldly affairs despite being in Mortal World. None of my brave warriors ever returned alive!"

"Your warriors are shit," said Assid nonchalantly.

"Kh!" Connak and Agist got their honor shredded by Assid's words.

"Rumor has it that they secretly have a portal that could plunge you into First Hell," Kesya nodded proudly, "At least that's what I heard from the talks inside my used-to-be guild."

Assid added, "That's also the talk of the wandering adventurers that stop by my bar."

"You have a bar?" Lyon raised his brows. "We should go some time."

"Unfortunately, I got too excited and destroyed the bar, along with one of the princes in the neighboring kingdom, forgive me, Emperor," Assid bowed his head.

(So you just start a war in the middle of nowhere because you're excited huh) Lyon had his lips twitched as he heard what Assid said. Lyon shook his head, "Anyway, now I have a place to be."

"However, we need to return first to Empress Cecile," Assid added.

"That's a rather odd suggestion. Of course, we are going back first, but why are you mentioning it? Are you implying something?" Lyon raised one of his brows.

"As expected of the Emperor I looked up to," Assid smiled. "The Dark Continent is a vast land mostly consisting of dangerous beasts that are some considered monsters. However, they too yielded important materials such as their—."

"Stop prolonging the not important stuff, Assid," Graham grunted. "Master is quite tired, he has no need for such unimportance."

Assid made a light cough, "I'm sorry master, but I am too excited for the place is the best source for meat and the like."

"Monster meat?" Lyon raised his brows.

"Monster meat, tropical delicacies, it holds so much source that certainly would be pricey to our current wealth," Assid shook his head.

Graham sighed before he said, "Master."

"Huh?"

"The Dark Continent is where Myriad Devil is located."

(Myriad Devil?) Galaeron frowned. (How vast is their knowledge about the entire world?).

"Myriad Devil eh, that sounds famili— oh," Lyon laughed. "What do you know fate really does have its own way of crossing things! Hahahaha..... oh boy," He gulped as he looked at Karina.
