As the old man said, they were used to being in a high rank. Their thinking was fixed. They always felt that the way they dealt with matters was right. For those people, they should be treated in that way.

“Let’s find a place to stay,” the man said.

Lianshan County was not good enough, so they went to the best hotel in City.

“Inquire about that Wang Yao,” the man said.

“Understood,” the driver said. He and the people with them left.

In this world, it was not serious as long as it could be handled with money. The doctor’s words and expressions seemed to be somewhat righteous, but the man still felt that it was because he had not heard his conditions. When the family of Su and Wu invited him to make a house call, Wang Yao had agreed.

No one would refuse an opportunity that could made them reach a high rank. The righteousness he showed was like a fig leaf. He was trying to find a step to make it reasonable.

Hum! He snorted.

In the mountain village, Wang Yao had been busy. After finishing the day’s work, he went out.

He saw Wen Wan walking with her son. Zheng Weizhen sat quietly beside the small river in the mountain village, looking at the willow trees by the river. Two people saw Wang Yao and said hello far away. He smiled and waved at them.

After having dinner, Wang Yao went out again. When he walked to the clinic, he stopped. It was located at the highest point in the mountain village, except for a few houses on the mountain.

The lights in the homes with people all lit up the mountain village. Looking around, there were more than 20 households that were black with no lights. Some of them might have gone out, but more of them moved out into the buildings in Lianshan County. These houses were idle.

At the time of signing the contract, they promised that after the buildings were built, they would move within one year. Some people had been unable to wait. The matter happening in Xishan was the biggest external cause. Recently, it happened again to outsiders going into the village, which accelerated the speed of villagers leaving.

“Maybe it won’t take long for it to become an empty village,” Wang Yao whispered.

He stood there and stayed for a while before turning to the mountain.

Nothing happened overnight. Early the next morning, Wang Yao went down the hill.

Some people were already waiting outside of the clinic. Now, most of the people who came knew his rules since most of them had inquired before. They knew the time of his consultations. Many of them had the idea to come early to wait in line.

Wang Yao started to receive patients as usual. Outside the clinic, a group of people came with banners and drumming. It was noisy.

“What’s wrong with them?” The people who heard the noise came out of their homes. The people in the village were very curious about such matters.

“They even have banners,” a villager said.

One of the banners read: The quack doctor Wang Yao treats people to death!

The people in the village saw the glaring red words on the white cloth.

“What is wrong? Did Xiaoyao treat people to death?” a villager asked.

“You have to talk to him,” another villager said.

Zhang Xiuying also felt curious about it, so she came to take a look. Seeing the bright red characters, her heart twitched as her face drastically changed.

“Xiaoyao, something went wrong!” A villager said as he rushed into the clinic.

“What’s wrong, uncle?” Wang Yao asked.

“Someone came over to call trouble saying that you killed someone,” the villager said.

“What?” Wang Yao was shocked. He got up and looked around at the patients in the room. “Sorry, I have something to deal with today. Please come back.”

“Oh, OK.” The people who came to see the doctor also had their own ideas. Some immediately got up and left. Two others stayed.

“Dr. Wang, do you need our help?” a patient who stayed asked.

They were warm-hearted and understood Wang Yao, so they stayed to see if they could help.

“No, thank you.” Wang Yao smiled.

He got up to go to the yard when he saw his parents rushing over.

“Dad, Mom, I know, you don’t have to worry,” Wang Yao said.

He went out of the clinic and head to the road to face the group of people.

“It is him, Wang Yao, quack doctor,” a man said. “You treated people to death!!”

“Quack doctor!”

“Executioner!”

“Shut up!” Wang Yao relentlessly shouted. Rumble! It was like a thunder.

“Oh, my ears!” The people on the road all held their ears.

“Who are you? Who did I treat to death?” Wang Yao asked as he looked at their leader.

“How didn’t you know it?” the leader asked. “Don’t look for an excuse, you are a murderer!”

“Shut up!” They separated by a few feet. Wang Yao waved his finger.

The man was just opening his mouth but could not make any sound.

“This treacherous person could not be here to talk,” Wang Yao said.

“What’s wrong with this?” The person next to the leader was shocked.

What happened to me? The person who could not talk was even more scared. He felt that his throat seemed to be blocked by something. The words were stuck in his throat but could not go out. It was as if there was a wall there.

“Come out, don’t hide.” Wang Yao rushed into the crowd.

His gaze fell through a few people onto a young man with sunglasses. His arms were covered with black sleeves and embroidered with a word “filial piety.”

The young man came out.

“Is your father dead?” Wang Yao asked.

“Yes, he was killed by you after he took the medicine you prescribed,” the young man snapped.

“He died from the anger with you. You are not filial,” Wang Yao said.

When he saw the patient last time, he already saw some hints. He hadn’t expected that the incident would end with the middle-aged man who seemed to tolerate too much dying so quickly.

“Damn it! It is obviously the problem with the medicine you prescribed,” the young man said.

“The medicine had no problems. If there is any doubt, you can take it for testing,” Wang Yao said. “Your father has passed away. Go to the autopsy to see what the problem is.”

“It is sophistry,” the young man said.

“Such a bad son! Shut up!” Wang Yao pointed to the void.

The young man’s mouth was there, but he couldn’t make any sound.

“You don’t deserve to talk here,” Wang Yao said.

Those who followed the troublemaker were stupefied. It could be seen as a coincidence if it happened to one person, but what about the second? Was this young man a wizard?

They had already retreated and wanted to leave.

“You!” Wang Yao looked at the dozens of people. “The deceased is your grandfather or father, tell me!”

The people in the crowd though, How can you scold us, since we don’t know him at all! However, no one dared to say it. If they said it, it would be clear that they were just causing trouble.

“Go!” Someone whispered a word, and they turned and left.

When they turned around, they found that the road behind them was blocked. Some big men with thick waists wearing sunglasses were lined up, blocking the way.

“Sir, what is your order?”

Sun Yunsheng and Zheng Weijun had come over.

The noises from the group had shocked them.

“No one is allowed to go,” Wang Yao said.

Those who came to make trouble regretted it.

“Young man, it is our fault,” someone in the group said. “We were hired by him. Would you please let us go?”

“Well, very good,” Wang Yao said. “Talk to the police.”

“Ah, young man, do you have to do this?” the person asked.

Wang Yao stopped talking. He had already called the police.

Toot! A siren was whistling. A police officer got out of his car and asked, “What’s up?”

“They are gathering people to make trouble. It is a false charge.” Wang Yao simply described the matter.

“Yes, we are all witnesses,” the villagers said.

“Take them all away!” The police officer who led the team waved.

“Thanks, Mr. Li,” Wang Yao said.

“You are too polite, Dr. Wang,” Mr. Li said.

“They know each other?” someone in the crowd asked. “Bureaucratic family!”

“What? Very good. Smearing police is one more offence,” Mr. Li said.

“Ah, police uncle, I am wrong,” the person in the crowd said.

The police worked quickly to settle the farce.

“Thank you all.” Wang Yao arched his hands.

“You can continue to see patients,” Mr. Li said.

Wang Yao returned to the clinic. “Dad, mom, the matter is solved. Don’t worry too much.”

“Oh, good.” Zhang Xiuying and Wang Fenghua were relieved.

Originally, they were really worried about the matter. They did not expect that their son could handle it so easily.

In the town police station, the group of people were questioned further.

“What happened?” The lead officer asked the young man leading the group, but he could not speak and seemed as if he was playing dumb. “Do you think I am a fool?”

One of the troublemakers said, “He is not dumb. He is like that because of that young man!”

“Do you think I will believe your words? What is going on?” the officer asked.

“No, I am telling the truth. It is absolutely true,” the troublemaker said. “If there is any deception, I will be hit by thunder. I swear.”

Without further delay, they all told the truth.

The officer turned to the young man. “OK. Don’t bother with sign language, I don’t understand. Your mother will come.”

Hearing that her son was arrested, Xu Meili, who had not come out of the shadow of her husband’s death, hurried to the police station in Songbai Town.

“Comrade comrade, where is my son?” she asked.

“Over there,” the officer said.

Zhao Chongyang saw his mother and gestured with his hands.

“Chongyang, what’s wrong with you?” Seeing her son, Xu Meili was suddenly panicked. Her husband had just died, and, now, her son was like this? What happened? Was it a punishment from god? “Comrade comrades, what the hell is going on?”

The officer told the story to her.

“Chongyang, is it true?” Xu Meili still did not believe it.

Zhao Chongyang nodded after a moment of silence.

“You, you are stupid!” She couldn’t help slapping him. “Police comrades, what should I do with this?”

“A serious crime of defamation can be sentenced to a term of imprisonment of three years or less,” a police officer said.

Of course, they could not finally decide whether it was serious. The sentence had to be handled by the court.
