After a few minutes, the young man impatiently asked, “How long will it take?”

“You are so hurried, aren’t you?” Wang Yao sullenly asked.

“Yeah,” the young man replied.

“Ah!” The middle-aged man sighed. He had no way to deal with his son.

“Hold on, I will prescribe medicine for you.” Wang Yao got the medicine and told him how to take it, along with the warnings.

“Pay attention to controlling your emotions and do not be angry.” While Wang Yao spoke, he glanced at the young man.

“Ah, what do you mean by the glance?” The young man seemed to feel the meaning of the words.

“Go.” His father could not put up with it anymore and led him out.

“Why are you dragging me?” The way where the young man spoke was very arrogant, as if it was not his father he was talking to but a servant or foe.

“Hey, young man, how can you talk to your father in that way?” The patients waiting could not tolerate his behavior.

“None of your business!” The young man rudely replied.

“Go! Now!” The man with the heart disease looked a little embarrassed. “I would not have brought him if I knew it.”

Plump! He slammed the door shut.

“How can he talk to his father in that way?” a patient asked.

“Yeah,” another patient said. “Look at the young men nowadays!”

“Ah, Dr. Wang, I did not him refer to you,” another patient said.

“No worries,” Wang Yao said.

It was only an episode. It did only affected Wang Yao’s mood in that he was a little sad for the middle-aged man. With such children, it was impossible to not be heartbroken. Looking at him, he might be angry for long time.

In life, not being angry was not possible, but easing it out timely and through a good outlet were necessary. Being sulky hurt the body the most.

Wang Yao glanced around the room full of patients and got back to work. Before long, it was late afternoon and about to get dark.

In a residence in Lianshan, a woman asked, “How was it going to see the doctor?”

“No worries,” a middle-aged man said.

“Look at you. It was either good or bad. What do you mean by no worries?” His wife was a little angry.

The man did not speak. He lowered his head and left the room.

“I am talking to you,” his wife said. “What happened?”

The man stayed in the room alone. He laid on the bed and looked at the ceiling. He thought of what had happened in the afternoon, including his son’s and wife’s attitudes toward him. His wife treated him badly no matter if it was in or out of the home, and his son had never listened to him. He had put up with it all these years with the thought that it was worth as long as his son had his own career and family.

But, was it really worth? What was the meaning of his life?

He had been vexed for half of his life and did not want it to keep going like that. He sighed deeply.

“The medicine is ready. Come out to take it.” His wife’s impatient voice came in from beyond the door.

She waited but heard nothing.

“What? Are you angry?” She tried to open the door, but it was locked from inside.

Lying on the bed in the room, the man stared at the ceiling. His eyesight became blurred. He seemed to see a young him full of vigor and vitality, and his parents who had passed away. “Dad, mom, sorry. I am a useless boy!”

“What are you doing in there? Open the door!” The women waited until 10 p.m., but her husband did not open the door. This had never happened before. “OK, don’t come out.”

Since they had more bedrooms, the woman went to another one to sleep. The next morning, she got up and found that the bedroom was still locked. She thought, Ah, don’t wake up forever!

The women groomed herself and went out. Since her husband usually cooked all the meals, she went to a restaurant.

She earned much more than her husband. As a result, she decided everything, no matter it was at home or not. She did not consider her husband at all even when confronting her husband’s family. She took it for granted that she took charge outside while her husband took care of the household.

She lived well considering it was a small county. She had accumulated assets started and then invested in the stock market. It was rare that a women would have special acumen in stock. Or, it could be thought that she made it thanks to the market. The money she earned in one year went beyond the sums of those others spent their whole life to earn. In this way, she could enjoy her life in any way she wanted.

“Going out?” a neighbor asked.

“Yeah,” she said.

“You are so beautiful,” the neighbor said.

“Really? Thanks,” she said.

She was totally different outside than at home. For outsiders, she always smiled. At home, she rarely did. Even the previous night, she only decocted the medicine soup for her husband out of whimsy. That was rare and unusual for her. Because of it, she was unsatisfied with her husband’s behavior.

After she had breakfast in a near restaurant, she did not return home. Instead, she visited one of her friends to play mahjong.

“Is your husband better?” the friend asked.

“Not yet, he is still lacking vigor. He lost his temper last night and locked himself in the room,” the woman said.

“Actually, your husband may live in hardship,” the friend said. “You ought to treat him better.”

“Am I not good to him, while I support his life?” the woman asked.

“Your husband has his own job, doesn’t he?” the friend asked.

“Well, he earns a little,” the woman said. “Enough of that, forget it. Let’s just play.”

After some rounds of mahjong, it was lunch time.

“Would you like to go with us to have lunch?” the friend asked.

“No thanks, I’d better go back home,” the woman said.

When she returned home, she found that her husband had not prepared lunch. The bedroom was still locked.

“How long will you be like this?” She raised her leg to kick the door.

There was still no response, so she went out to have lunch and ordered some side dishes. While she was eating, her complexion suddenly changed. She pulled down the chopsticks and hurriedly ran out.

“Hey, you didn’t pay for it!” the waiter yelled.

She put cash on the table and ran back home in a hurry. She turned boxes and chests upside down to find the key to the door, but she failed. She was flustered and sweating.

“Mom, what is going wrong?” her son asked.

Her had hurried back because he received a phone call from his mother. He had never heard her so flustered before.

“Your dad, your dad…” The woman was panicked.

“What happened to him?” her son asked.

“He locked himself in the room,” the woman said with despair.

“So what? Let him alone,” her son said.

“Open the door quickly. He has been in there for more than a day,” the woman ordered.

The young man realized something wasn’t quite right, so he hit the door. It was a firm wooden door. As they became rich, they had purchased a sturdy one.
