Divine Emperor of Death

2889 Troubling Winds

A curved blade slashed past Clara's body. The sheer sound of the deadly blade slicing through the air left Ellia and the others feeling alarmed beyond compare.

They were already on high alert, expecting someone to make a move but never did they expect an attack from the inside, catching them off-guard. The elders also didn't expect it.

*Puchi!~*

A crimson-robed figure landed on the ground while holding a curved blade in her hand, whose tip seemed to be covered in blood, but it was rapidly burning and evaporating as though it was being used up.

"Blood Pledge Arts: Reaper's Lock."

Chains swarmed Clara and wrapped themselves around her. She shook intensely, trying to get rid of them but also trembled as though resisting her own instincts.

"Big sis Schleya, what are you doing!?"

Tia yelled out, appearing before Schleya as she wrapped her arms around her.

Schleya stood up and cast a glance at Tia. However, she looked around and saw the others heave a sigh of relief as though they understood her actions. It suddenly made her feel a bit warm, not expecting the others to understand her actions.

However, it seems like Tia was the one who was worried the most about Clara, as they were practically together.

"It's fine. I've only received commands from your big brother to seal Clara's cultivation, not kill her."

"Even so… " Tia pouted.

She turned to look at Clara and saw that there was a nick on her shoulder stained with blood. She didn't want anyone attacking each other, but she also knew her bodyguard's Blood Pledge Arts: Reaper's Lock was something that required a victim's blood to activate.

"It's fine. Seal me while I still have some sanity left..." Clara spoke with difficulty, still squinting her eyes.

Her eyebrows fluttered, seemingly in a battle with her own subconscious that was being influenced.

"Ellia, quickly heal. We'll take care of her from here." Isabella spoke.

Shirley also came back to herself, no longer giving a damn about the Fire Phoenix Clan as she approached Clara and soothed her gently, praising and encouraging her to maintain her sanity.

Ellia nodded lightly upon seeing things settled down a bit.

She cast a glance at Clara again, thinking that they could make her faint and spare her the pain. However, she felt that Clara needed to learn how to control herself from now on if they were to continue living like this until they found a method to seal the influence.

After all, the stronger a heaven's warrior was, the stronger the influence of the heavens would be on them. At least, that was what she heard.

Shortly, she brought her hands to her stomach and back, stopping the bleeding while using light energy. Her immortal essence and martial energy surged out as her dantian had been punctured, leaking her cultivation away in copious amounts. Her cultivation base had already dropped to Level Eight Immortal Stage and was continuing to drop rapidly.

However, she didn't seem too worried about it.

"What are you looking at!? Although we are grateful for the protection, this isn't a show."

Bylai took a step forward toward the elders and shoo'ed them off, causing the elders to blink before they lightly laughed and turned away. They didn't even consider it as the situation was too serious to perceive them as something else other than troubled disciples who were in need of help. But they were shocked that they could deal with this problem by themselves, not even asking for their help for healing.

'What a strongly bonded, powerful bunch…'

Elder Aradiel Furiose sighed as he saw through each and everyone's prowess at that precarious moment, but his tone was one of pride, thinking it was no wonder they seemed to be full of trust for their husband even when he pulled something like fooling everyone around him by faking his death, probably even to his own women, but didn't seem like the case as they seem to have regained back their memories suddenly or something similar to fool others before this banquet, not to mention still trusting him after bringing down an accursed tribulation like that.

They had decided to be together with him through thick and thin, and he could see that very well.

'Well, I didn't believe that he died though… it was too abrupt, but seeing his life energy, it all makes sense…'

"Ridiculous… ridiculous…"

But he muttered twice as he shook his head, unable to believe what kind of monster he was to wield both life and death energy. Although energies could be faked from a source, he believed that he had both since there were too many deaths in his life, yet not a single true death that ended him once and for all.

'Is he capable of reviving himself like a phoenix but eternally…?'

Elder Aradiel Furiose thought but didn't know the person whom he was thinking of right now was Myria!

She was the only individual who could revive herself indefinitely in a way as she would retain her memories and experiences even after death.

Meanwhile, Zestria and Sophie both covered Ellia with a fiery veil, and Isabella released her empress dragon aura, which overwhelmed the senses around her, allowing Ellia to discreetly start using life energy to heal herself back to health.

Although it was out that Davis could possibly use life energy, they didn't want to give out all their trump cards.

Nevertheless, Ellia's crippled immortal vessel was starting to heal rapidly as Clara's attack didn't seem to have come with too much remnant energy.

This only made Ellia smile as she knew that Clara tried to hold herself back as much as possible.

Nonetheless, they all thought it was fortunate they were already inside the easternmost branch, at a garden where people were cleared for them. Otherwise, it would've become public information that there were rumors of internal division among them, which would've made them a laughing stock but, most importantly, needlessly worry their husband.

They already wondered how to explain this situation, as he wouldn't tolerate anyone coming to harm. They felt that they might be yelled at and punished as this had truly gone overboard. Even Schleya was a bit scared, feeling that she took acting a bit too late.

But little did they know that he had something to explain to them as well, being afraid of each other's wrath at the moment hilariously.

"This is such a long tribulation… I'm starting to become worried…"

Lea's brows narrowed a bit as she looked into the distance, witnessing the darkened sides on the eastern side.

Hearing her words, the others also felt a bit worried. After all, a tribulation would usually be over within two minutes or so.

Meanwhile, they could hear that the outside was also quite clamorous, having their own issues.

"Starlight Jade Wolf King? What is the meaning of this?"

"Yes, tell us! The Aurora Cloud Gate remains silent, and you crows also dare to remain silent?"

"Starlight Jade Wolf Clan, you owe us an explanation!"

The many alliances demanded an explanation from the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan and the Golden Crow Clan, who treated Mo Tian- no, Davis Alstreim with respect, even calling him brother.

Indeed, the Starlight Jade Wolf King, Fenren Jadelight, and Golden Crow Clan's Patriarch Soaren Goldsun's expressions were not good. They looked at the crowd, their eyes beholding an unknown intent as they remained silent amidst the pouring curses and demands.
