Demon Lord Management Sim Game

107 107 – The Black Night

Despite her condition, the fairy's movements are so sharp and fast. I was the one who had to dodge first instead of landing attacks.

She kept trying to claw at me, but I kept dodging. Yes, my body can't feel pain, but that doesn't mean I can let my guard down.

Her strikes could have a harmful effect on me. However, I can't go on like this. Sooner or later, I have to strike back at her.

So, I decided to kick that being in the stomach, forcing her to roll backward.

As I was about to make a follow-up attack, I felt my leg get stuck. When I looked down, I found that my ankles had been entangled by the fibrous roots of the corn plants.

I can easily escape. Unfortunately, my reaction was too late. The fairy had already jumped at me.

I groaned when she managed to claw my chest, causing five long wounds there. Even so, I saw an opportunity. I punched her in the face as hard as I could, making her fall again to the ground.

The wound from my opponent wasn't that deep, and it didn't seem to have any effect on me. So, I intend to hit her again.

And that's when I realized that I was wrong.

My chin dropped as the pain from my burns returned. The claw marks from the fairy also gave immeasurable pain.

My opponent's attack cancels all the buffs I get.

With a bruised face, the fairy clawed at my body again. The unprepared me didn't have time to block or dodge. And she seems to know it.

That being gave me a barrage of claw after claw, forcing me to step back and keep dodging. Because of the chance she got, she managed to injure me in several places.

All of that overwhelmed me even more, and I couldn't find any openings to attack.

Even so, giving up was not an option. I have to finish this no matter what.

So, I grabbed her head and desperately smashed my head against her forehead. My opponent staggered backward but managed to stay on her feet.

Then, I tackled her until we both fell to the ground.

"Arrrghhh!!!" I had already raised my fist to hit the fairy's face, but my joints suddenly felt like they were stiff.

In that vulnerable position, she shed tears.

Questions then crossed my heart. Should I really kill her? Is she crying because she will soon die or because she will leave this land and the elves?

"Why I had to fight you?" I also started to feel hot and wet in my eyes. "You can't even fight properly!"

I grabbed her hair again, forcing her to straighten up. She was still trying to free herself but had no more strength. Her claws are just giving me meaningless stretches to me.

It seemed she had crossed her limits earlier but forced herself to fight me.

Now even she can't move her body properly.

"I won't hurt you anymore. So, relax." I knelt behind her, holding her head with both hands. "Sorry…. As I said before, I don't hate you…. Goodbye…"

I twisted her head with one move, making a terrible snap sound. Both of her hands immediately went limp, no longer putting up any resistance.

Then, she collapsed as the light from her body vanished.

I took a deep breath, sat up, and stared at my opponent's motionless face. With trembling hands, I closed her eyes which no longer showed the glow of life.

Finally, it's over.

"Ugh…." I really had to force myself to just get up. The pain in my body was even more excruciating after I got the claws from the fairy.

What if, from the start, she was serious against me? Maybe I'll lose with just those root attacks.

However, I rushed to destroy her body, making her unable to control plants properly anymore.

"Don't move!" An elf came out between the corn trees. That man with shiny gray hair approached me, carrying a knife.

I shook my head as I lifted the fairy's body. "Don't…."

Because I was a bit dizzy, I needed time to recognize that he was the guard who met me in the garden and gave me food.

"What are you doing on our family's plantation, sir?" He kept approaching me with wary steps. "Who's she? Why is she so badly injured? And what with the wings and horns on you?"

It's useless for me to talk to him. I prefer to flap my wings and start flying up.

"I apologize for destroying a part of your family's plantation…."

I choked up when I realized black spots were starting to infect the corn trees.

The elf also looked confused. The black spots expanded rapidly, then turned the plants completely black before finally falling off into tiny bits.

"What happened?" He knelt down and picked up the plant debris.

Saying nothing more, I continued flying away.

Along the way, I saw other plants also suffer the same fate. The houses and buildings using those giant trees also turned black and fell off quickly.

Screams of fear followed by hysterical cries filled the cold night air. I kept flying, even though I couldn't use full speed due to my injury.

My gaze fell on the face of the fairy. That being looked like she was asleep, even though her face was covered in blood.

There can be no more regrets. I have chosen this path and must be prepared for all the consequences.

My subordinates are waiting in the future to be led by me.

As far as the eye could see, I saw only a black expanse of the crushed plants. The light from the moon, stars, or their magic lanterns was not enough to illuminate the land.

After this, how many elves will struggle just to make ends meet? They can no longer rely on sales of their crops.

This country is really dead. That prosperous land of elves has already become history.

And that happened because of me, the demon lord.
