The door of our room was kicked down from outside. Ah! Mai Qi screamed in fear. I was disrupted from my thoughts. Mai Qi huddled towards me. I stood up and blocked her behind me.

“This is a raid! Show us your ID!” 7 policemen stormed into the room. They had solemn faces and fierce eyes. They didn’t go easy on us because we were 2 girls under 20.

Before I could react, one of the officers hit my arm with his baton. “Quickly!”

My anger burned and I retorted. “Am I a criminal? How can you assault me?”

I stood my ground. “I didn’t even move an inch, how does that count as an assault?”

“That’s my shot to call, not yours.” He glared at me. He hit my laptop with his baton. “Confiscate this laptop. Perhaps it has criminal evidence. Two girls coming to a nightclub, what good thing can they be doing?”

I challenged. “Why can’t 2 girls frequent a nightclub?”

As the officer behind him packed up my laptop, the man said, “We suspect you two are conducting illegal business here. Cuff them!”

“This is too much! We haven’t even done anything! I’m going to call my mother to lodge a complaint against you!” Mai Qi’s face was red from fury.

“Mai Qi, calm down. We’ll go with them.” I looked at the gloating officer and comforted Mai Qi. Mai Qi wanted to say something else but I shook my head at her. “We’re here to have fun. Let’s not say anything more. We’ll just follow these officers.” I looked at the man and smiled. “Let’s see how long they can keep us locked up.”

Mai Qi got my meaning. She raised her chin. “Okay, I would like to see the inside of a detention cell anyway.”

I smiled. Mai Qi was truly a princess.

As we walked out of the room, we saw the people next door were being led out as well. Of course, all the government officials were gone. There were only Ye Qian, Jing Ning, and Nanyang.

Nanyang was crying, Ye Qian was calm and Jing Ning looked angry.

Ye Qian looked at Mai Qi in shock. “Mai Qi, what are you doing here?”
