Child of Destiny

842 Godly Display (Part 5): Problem Children

...

Roar!

The deafening roar of a dragon attracted the attention of the other members of the group and made them turn toward Arthur's direction. But after looking at him briefly, they just slightly shrugged their shoulders before continuing what they were doing.

But unlike the other three, Shin, who was the most familiar with Arthur, stared at him a little longer.

He observed Arthur very carefully while dodging the wolves pouncing at him from every direction and cutting them down one after another.

Given his current senses, Shin was able to sense all of the changes in Arthur's every move. He could also feel a different atmosphere surrounding the latter, especially when he saw the current eyes that Arthur had.

"It must be his Mythical Innate Talent just like mine," muttered Shin as he could instantly tell the difference between the current Arthur and the previous one that he knew. "Pinnacle Omniscience, isn't it?"

Shin couldn't help but feel a sudden urge for competitiveness. He really wanted to have a duel with Arthur at this moment.

Unfortunately, he also knew that it was currently impossible. It was because he could now feel the burden that the Reality Manifestation had.

They were still new to this particular mechanic, so it was natural for them to feel the negative reaction that it could give them. Just like the Combat Techniques that they had, Reality Manifestation burned their willpower and required a lot of concentration.

The consumption rate was much faster too, which was why they couldn't be in this state for too. At least for now, where they were still trying to get used to this particular state.

No one said that it was impossible to continue to be in this state naturally.

Shin could feel it. He would be able to maintain this state for as long as he wanted when his body and mind get used to it.

He could now understand why Professor Henry told him that this game was a perfect training ground for everyone. Especially for someone like him who possessed special talents.

He moved to the side, dodging yet another wolf before cutting it with his sabers. He then turned his attention to the battlefield and saw that the respawn rate of the wolves dropped drastically.

They were still spawning but they were already taking a long time before it happened. Shin and the other already slaughtered quite a lot of wolves before a single one could even respawn.

With this, the group already achieved their purpose of coming here. They could now go back and inform the others of their discovery.

But it didn't mean that their problem ended here, this was just the start. This might solve their problem with the endless spawn rate of the wolves but the problem regarding the berserk nature of these wolves still remained.

Every time they killed a wolf, its energy would still transfer to the surrounding wolves and strengthen them. It might be a little better than strengthening all of the other wolves whenever they died, but given the number of wolves in the area, Shin could already guess how strong the final wolf would absorb all of the energies of wolves that died.

The group was even starting to feel the pressure of the strengthened wolves. On top of the burden that they were getting from keeping themselves in the state of Reality Manifestation, the endless assaults of the wolves around them were starting to tire them out.

Shin frowned deeply at this situation. After all, they were still in the outer circle of the wolf pack, so they still didn't have the chance to fight the most elite wolves. This gave them the idea that going deeper into the formation was going to be more troublesome than they had thought.

"I guess it is time to retreat now," muttered Shin as they already achieved their goals.

He then turned to Arthur once again and saw the latter enjoying the feeling of being able to constantly use his Martial Art Skills inside the game.

"But before that, let me try me try a couple of my Martial Art Skills too," he added as he hopped backward, creating a distance between him and the wolves.

Ta-ta!

And right after his feet touched the ground, he quickly stood straight and regulate his breathing before controlling the powers of the Brilliant Sun and Abyssal Moon according to the Yin-Yang Breathing Technique.

He treated the two powers within him as the Sacred Qi and Demonic Qi, just like what Professor Henry had instructed him.

Shin already tried this before which was why he manage to create the 'Eclipse Wielding'. But at the current moment, he felt it was more realistic because he was in the state of Reality Manifestation.

Shin saw Arthur showcasing the high-end skills under the True Nine Dragon Arts, so he also wanted to show off the same level of Martial Arts under his Yin-Yang Swordsmanship a little.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

The [Dusk Blade] and [Dawn Blade] released powerful energies with opposing properties. One had a cold and freezing black glow while the other was covered with a brilliant white flame.

Then Shin swung the sabers successively as if he was executing the self-created skill 'Eclipse Cross'.

The sabers left a flash of light in the space in front of Shin, a huge cross lingered in that area as if the space itself was sliced by the two energies. And when that flash disappeared, another blinding light immediately followed while being accompanied by a huge explosion.

'Yin-Yang Swordsmanship: Sword Transcendence'

Boom!

The whole area in front of him exploded alongside the wolves standing on it. And due to what happened, the wolves who were fortunate enough to survive, suddenly learned what fear felt like.

They were still growling ferociously at Shin, but that was all in it. They refused to move even for an inch as they could feel the immense threat that was being emitted by Shin's body.

An alternating black and white aura were enfolding his body. His eyes were cold yet also carrying a blazing flare in them.

Real World

World Gaming Organization.

Carlos, the head of the Monitoring Department, was currently sitting inside his offices, fully exhausted. He felt that he aged for decades these last few weeks.

He had been receiving a lot of complaints from the different departments for doing such a 'poor' job. They complained that they couldn't rest properly because of the constant reports that they needed to take care of urgently. And those reports were about them needing to continuously update the game to keep the balance.

Naturally, the report came from the Monitoring Depart who was always keeping an eye on the brightest and most skilled players of the game. Or in other words, the Top Godlike Players and God Rank Mavericks, there were also those Titled Rankers who could hold themselves against such players.

These players were the source of the suffering for the developers. They needed to do a couple of updates to give the average players a chance at catching up to those monsters.

Of course, it was impossible to fill the gap between their skills, but at the very least, the developers needed to make sure that the average players could have a better environment and good grinding spots.

After all, they couldn't afford to let the mainstream players lag behind too much to keep the competitive atmosphere of the game always present. It was fine for the leading players to be ahead of the others but the majority of the players needed to be always behind them.

Moreover, the population of the players inside the game was continuously growing larger. And the number of grinding spots couldn't occupy all of them. And on top of that, the Powerhouse Guilds were constantly expanding their powers, so some of those leveling maps were being monopolized by them.

This was another reason for the development teams to constantly design new maps and release more dungeons for the slightly weaker players.

This was to always keep the balance between the mainstream players who were not part of any organizations and the players who were members of those top powerhouses.

But because of the existence of so-called 'Godlike Players' and the other players who could rival them, the developers were having a hard time keeping up with their deadlines. Especially when those players were constantly clearing the hard contents that they just created.

Due to this, the Monitoring Team would always take the blame for doing a lousy job of not monitoring these 'problem children' properly.

If only they knew how hard to keep these players under their watch. The Monitoring Team were always doing overtime, cutting off their rest just to keep an eye on them.

On top of that, there were also a group of players who needed to be monitored twenty-four hours a day. The Miracle Players, an of players who always surpassed their imagination as well as the calculation of the supercomputer Chronos.

Fortunately, the Major Regions of each race within the game were already been released. These regions could at least keep those problem children busy and buy enough time for the developers to come up with new and much harder content.

"This would at least stop the complaints from keep coming our way. And at least give us enough time to take proper rest," muttered Carlos as he massaged his temples to relieve himself from the headache that he was suffering for the last few weeks.

He was about to close his eyes and relax when one of his subordinates suddenly came rushing inside his office, full of urgency. "Sir! We have a huge problem!"

"F*ck! What is it this time!?" cursed Carlos right after hearing those words.

The young man who just entered gulped a mouthful of saliva the moment he heard his frustrated tone of Carlos.

He then braced his ears for the upcoming rage of his boss before stuttering. "T-the R-Reality Manifestation has been unlocked."

The corner of Carlos' mouth couldn't help but twitch after hearing that. But he immediately recovered himself since he already knew that it was about time to be discovered by the leading players since level 150 and the next Class Promotion Quests were right around the corner.

'As long as it was only a single person, we will not have a problem monitoring them,' he thought to himself as a form of comfort.

"So, who among the Miracle Players is it?" he asked with a much calmer tone.

Hearing that, the young man couldn't help but have a sigh of relief. But he also knew that he was only about to say the worst news that his boss could possibly hear. So, he braced himself once again before saying with a very careful tone. "The p-problem is-… it is not just one player, b-but-…a whole lot of them."

There was a momentary lapse in Carlos' thoughts as if his mind suddenly stopped working. He then closed his eyes and leaned on his chair while cursing himself. "F*ck my life!"

He was starting to doubt his decision of working for this company. "Maybe I should consider submitting my resignation letter and look for a different career."
