"A goblin on the loose?!" The shop owner was surprised.

Miaomiao flinched. He thought of the dead sentry guards on the battlements that he killed.

'Come to think of it, that immortal said he had an object memory reading skill. They must have learned it through that method. It's about time.'

Miaomiao figured that the humans had already discovered his deeds. He deeply exhaled, preparing his heart for a bitter struggle as a stranded soldier behind the enemy lines.

"How did they know that only goblin broke through? I thought goblins worked in groups."

The girl explained, "They broadcast it just now. The Castellan of the 18th fortress said it himself."

"The castellan? Well, if he says so, that's probably the truth. He's an immortal after all."

Miaomiao heard something interesting. He was also relieved that he didn't attack any fortress head-on, or he would have clashed against one or two immortals.

For the sake of preventing suspicion, Miaomiao excused himself, "Owner, thank you for the food. I have to leave."

'Just leave this village and head to the city. At least, you will be safe there for the time being since immortal knights and mages in there will protect you.'

'What if he attacks the city?'

'He won't. He's only a hobgoblin with 8 mana circles. He isn't a match for the guardian immortals in the city.'

Shirley was relieved. She nodded, 'Okay. I'll tell Grandpa about it and pack my stuff. We'll move to the Brown Leopard City!'

After Miaomiao left the village, he grudgingly looked back and grumbled.

"Did I just sense a protagonist back there? Who is that girl?!"

Miaomiao was confused. The girl was just a commoner, but she had the scent of a heavenly fate crystal. He had the urge to slaughter every human in the village and abduct the girl into his dantian universe. However, he was afraid of exposing his location to the local knights, and he was not ready to fight a hundred immortals at once.

The complications annoyed Miaomiao.

"Just consider yourself lucky, little girl. Oh, right. I can just stalk this village and wait for the night. I should find a secluded place to dig a burrow."

Miaomiao looked at the nearby corn farm. The tall stalks of corn were as tall as Miaomiao's height, which provided enough cover for him temporarily. He narrowed his eyes as he had a plan.

While walking down the dirt road, Miaomiao activated an ability that he had learned from Xiaomao in secret.

Miaomiao's body became transparent, vanishing from plain sight. He kicked the ground and dove into the cornfield, avoiding the detection of anyone that might be watching him. After getting deep into the cornfield, Miaomiao touched the soil with his hand. Using his Qi and dantian universe, he stole the soil and dropped them on a planet in his dantian universe. Then, he poured out his Qi, hardening the ceiling, the ground, and the walls of his new burrow.

After Miaomiao had created a large room underground, he returned to the surface. He created a manhole cover with his mana and metal Qi, making it two meters wide. Then, he put it on top of the burrow hole while he was underground. Using his Qi and telekinesis ability, Miaomiao poured dirt and soil to cover the steel manhole, hiding it from the farmer.

When Miaomiao finished, he got himself a place to hide underground. He also disabled the camouflage ability and took a short break.

'Not enough. I should make it a dungeon or something. Right, I should ask Xiaomao if he has a spare dungeon core. I can turn this place into a dungeon if I dig deep enough.'

Miaomiao resumed digging. As usual, he stole dirt, rock, soil, and mud underground and threw them on a planet in his dantian universe. Gradually, he hardened the walls, ceiling, and ground with his Qi so the burrow wouldn't collapse on him.

For half a day, Miaomiao created an ant-like maze while he navigated south, creating an escape route to the goblin forest.

Miaomiao lost count of how far he had dug. He tried his best to head south while he created a multi-floor dungeon with Qi and Mana alone.

At 5 PM, Miaomiao came across a layer of a massive stone. He tried to dig around it, but he kept seeing a formation of white stones. He touched it and spread his Qi sense to check the surface.

"Oh, it's a wall."

There were also thick iron pipes and metal rods in there. The large stones and rocks were the foundation of the wall.

Miaomiao was relieved as he managed to come this far. He repeated the same technique to the wall foundation and kept on digging. A large underground tunnel expanded and traveled through the wall foundation, reaching the other side of the human territory.

Going 20 meters further, Miaomiao passed through the wall. He reached the goblin's land, but he was still close to the fortress wall formation.

Miaomiao scanned the surface with his Qi. Upon noticing that he had reached the other side of the wall, he inwardly laughed.

"I should have done this earlier! With this, I can sneak into the human cities and snatch more women! But still, those lucky protagonists might find the underground passage. I need to put some traps or hide the pathways."

Miaomiao turned around and looked at the large hole. He raised his hand and was about to cover it, blocking the path of a potential pursuer. However, he lowered his hand as he remembered something.

He needed to go back and capture someone.

'That girl… I need to catch that girl and extract her heavenly fate crystal. I can't let her live.'

Miaomiao deeply sighed. He turned around and dug harder, proceeding to the goblin forest.

Three hours later, Miaomiao reached the forest. He created an exit passage and got out of the ground.

It had been a long day. Fortunately, Miaomiao had the 20 rice balls that he got from the item shop, so he had no issue with food.

Still, it was already 8 PM. The sun had gone from the sky, and it was time to go back.

Miaomiao turned around and entered the burrow.

"GOB! Wait, Hobgoblin, GOB!"

"…"

Miaomiao frowned and looked back. He found a group of 10 goblins, each carrying a short sword, a quiver of arrows, and a bow. Some of them had a scar on their bodies. Moreover, everybody had two mana circles in their hearts.

These guys were elite goblins!

Miaomiao narrowed his eyes, "What do you want?"

The goblin pointed at the burrow, "Nest. Yours, GOB?"

"Yeah, this is my burrow. So?"

The goblins cheered. They knelt before Miaomiao, "Serve. You. GOB! We. You. Help. GOB!"

"Hoh?" Miaomiao was amused, "Are you trying to pledge allegiance to me?"

"You. Leader. GOB! We. Serve. GOB!"

"Hmm."

Miaomiao rubbed his chin. He evaluated the pros and cons.

The upside – Miaomiao would get free laborers to do menial tasks, such as patrolling the burrow, cutting down defenseless humans around the entrance, or hunting for food.

The downside – Their presence would surely expose Miaomiao's secret base location. Strong immortals could easily cut them down, and humans would find the underground passageway. Moreover, they might ask for Miaomiao's women and ruin his privacy.

After thinking about the pros and cons, Miaomiao made his decision.

"Sorry, no."

The goblins were crestfallen. They were disappointed.

Miaomiao explained, "My battlefields don't belong here. I'll fight alone in the human cities. If you're looking for a new nest or a place to live, don't follow me. This burrow is a passageway to the human's land, got it? Strong humans and knights will kill you if you follow me to the other side!"

"GOB?!"

The goblins were shocked. They stared at the burrow with sparkling eyes.

"HUMAN. LAND. GOB!"

"WE. KILL. HUMAN. GOB!"

"WE. FOLLOW. GOB!"

Miaomiao facepalmed. These guys didn't listen.

Since these idiots wasted their time, Miaomiao turned around and rushed into the passageway.

Meanwhile, the goblins behind Miaomiao cheered.

"HUMAN. ATTACK. GOB!"

"BRING. MORE. GOBLINS. GOB!"

"CAPTURE. WOMEN. GOB!"

The group didn't follow Miaomiao right away. They turned around and split up, returning to their previous nests.

Miaomiao had no idea that these silly goblins returned to their bases to call for reinforcements. However, he wasn't stupid enough to leave a passageway open for the goblins to follow.

Under the fortress wall, Miaomiao crossed the tunnel and reached human territory. He turned around and pointed his hand at the tunnel. Then, he released the boulders, rocks, and dirt that he had been collecting.

The soil, rocks, and mud appeared and blocked the passageway. Even if the goblins were strong, they wouldn't be able to follow him to the other side.

"I'm doing this for you, idiots. Don't follow me."

Miaomiao resumed his journey.

The journey back took less time than the way out. In an hour, he returned to the cornfield. He pushed the manhole lid open and got out of the ground.

The cornfield was still as quiet as ever. Miaomiao put the cover back and reactivated the camouflage skill. After kicking the ground, he flew toward the farmer's village.

A minute later, Miaomiao returned to the previous item store.

The village was strangely quiet. No house or cabin around here lit their candles, and the street was without a bright torch. Miaomiao deeply frowned.

'What happened here?'

Miaomiao thought of the warning bell in the morning. He wondered if the villagers fled because of it.

"Tsk!"

Miaomiao kicked the item store's front door open. He rushed inside to find the family.

Unfortunately, they were gone.

Miaomiao facepalmed. He spread his Qi sense to search every house in the area.

He stood there for a minute, closing his eyes. He paced his breath to suppress his anger.

All villagers had already migrated.

"…"

Miaomiao opened his eyes and walked out of the building. He turned toward the north and give the Brown Leopard City a meaningful look.

"Alright. Fine. You win, plot armor. You win this time."

Nothing made Miaomiao mad more than an active protagonist's plot armor power. He realized that Shirley's plot armor prevented him from killing her prematurely.

Because of the foul mood, Miaomiao returned to the burrow. He rushed back to an underground tunnel and reopen the passageway. After he returned to the goblin's side, he dug a new burrow under a mountain.

At 10 PM, Miaomiao finished making his new base. He turned his attention to his dantian universe's residents.

Aside from the three pregnant women, Miaomiao trapped a mage, two prostitutes, and 10 female adventurers on one of his planets. As Miaomiao needed them fertilized, he pulled a naked mage out of his dantian.

The mage had long regained her consciousness. She was confused when she suddenly got teleported from a strange world to a dark place underground.

As the human mage couldn't see in the dark, she started making noise.

"Hello?! Anybody here?!"

Miaomiao didn't say anything. He exhaled aphrodisiac gas in his cave. Then, he pushed the busty woman down, venting his anger on her body.
