Biohuman

654 Chan-Yeol's Findings

The phone rang right as Keng and his friends walked out of the door. Keng fished for his phone, pulling it out and noticing the caller.

"Hello?" Keng answered the phone.

"Did I call at a good time?" Akio's voice came over the phone.

"Just got out of school. You got info?" Keng pulled away from his friends, turning away as Academy students moved past him.

"Yeah, my guy is coming over to report. I told him you'd be coming. Can you meet today?"

'Yeah." Keng answered, hastily. "I'll be there."

"See you later then." Akio spoke. "Oh, Keng." Akio chimed as Keng pulled the phone away from his "human ears."

"Hm?" Keng looked up. Ritsuka was waiting for him as Manny and the others continued towards the car. Calis stood off to the side, waiting for Keng to finish his phone call.

"Are you going somewhere?" Ritsuka mouthed.

"What do you want to eat for dinner?" Akio asked. Keng put a finger up to Ritsuka, telling him to wait. "I can make something if you want. Otherwise, I was going to order takeout."

"What do you wanna eat?" Keng asked Calis.

"Hm? What do I want to eat? Are we going somewhere before we deal with business?" Calis asked.

"Akio's asking." Keng informed him.

"Oh! I'm good with whatever." Calis answered.

"Whatever's convient for you." Keng answered Akio. "Calis doesn't have a craving for anything and I could literally eat anything."

"Alright. I'll get takeout then. See you in a bit." Akio told Keng.

"Bye." Keng hung the phone up and stuffed the phone into his pocket.

"We're going to Akio's, then?" Calis asked.  Keng nodded, noticing Ritsuka moving towards them.

"You coming back home?" Ritsuka asked.

"No. I gotta run some errands." Keng shook his head. "Gotta go meet Akio about y'know what."

"Ah, okay." Ritsuka nodded. "I'll let them know then. Hopefully there's good news on y'know what. See ya. Bye, Calis." Ritsuka waved, pulling away as Calis and Keng waved him goodbye.

The drive to Akio's was smoother than usual. Calis pulled into a parking spot and parked the car. Keng looked up, away from his laptop and realized they were here.

"We're here, sir." Calis smiled. Keng roleld his eyes and shut his laptop. The two got out of the car and walked into Akio's building, taking the stairs up to Akio's floor. Calis knocked on the door as Keng glanced at his phone.

"Yo." Akio greeted Calis and Keng. "Drive was alright?"

"Barely missed the traffic." Calis answered, stepping into the home. Keng answered a random text from Ritsuka about getting some training in and followed in after Calis.

"How're you doin', Keng?" Akio asked, shutting the door. Keng took his shoes off and hit send. He slipped the phone into his pocket and looked at Akio.

"Doing fine. Slow day. You look much better." Keng nodded at Akio. Akio smiled at him, walking with him into the living room.

"All thanks to you. That remedy did wonders. I think it even made me more flexible!" Akio chuckled. Keng smiled, pulling his backpack and coat off. He set his things off to the side by the wall and took a seat.

"What're we having?" Keng asked.

"Chinese." A male voice answered. Keng looked up and realized there was somebody else here. Somebody he swore he saw before. Akio wandered next to the man and roped his arm around him.

"Remember this guy?" Akio asked. "This is my secretary…" Akio trailed off, eyes widening like he wanted Keng to answer.

"Oh." Keng stood up and pointed at him. "Secretary Chan-Yeol Jo."

"Bingo!" Akio smiled. Chan-Yeol pulled away from Akio and stuck his hand out to Keng.

"It's strange to see Lee Seng in front of me when I know it's not him. You're Keng, right? I'm Chan-Yeol Jo. It's a pleasure to meet you." Chan-Yeol introduced himself.

"Nice to meet you, too." Keng shook Chan-Yeol's hand. Keng motioned over to Calis, who was standing up from his seat. "Oh, this is Calis. He's an associate of mines."

"Nice to meet you, Calis." Chan-Yeol shook Calis's hand.

"You too." Calis nodded.

"So, tell me you have good news, Mr. Akio." Keng peeked over to Akio.

"You don't have to call me mister. Makes me feel old." Akio scratched his neck. Chan-Yeol snickered at that and looked over at the CEO-Number.

"You are old, sir." Chan-Yeol teased him. Akio rolled his eyes and wandered into the ktichen. Akio followed after with Chan-Yeol and Calis in tow.

"Don't you want to eat before all of the news is dumped onto you?" Akio asked, grabbing plates. Chinese takeout was already neatly set up and ready to be dug into. Akio offered a plate to Keng, who took in and wandered over to the food. He filled his plate as Akio handed the rest plates.

"You can eat in the living room." Akio told Keng and the others. Keng wandered into the living room, taking a seat and digging into his food. The others joined shortly afterwards, settling into the empty seats and eating.

"So, did you figure anything out?" Keng asked Chan-Yeol. Chan-Yeol slurped the noodles into his mouth as he nodded.

"I found something strange." Chan-Yeol answered. "There's an apartment at the edge of the city that fits the view exactly, but the apartment's completely abandoned. Furniture's all covered and there wasn't a trace to the human eye."

"But you just said you found a trail." Calis spoke up.

"And I did." Chan-Yeol set his food onto the coffee table. "Have you ever felt something was off but your human eyes told you otherwise?"

"Yeah?" Keng nodded.

"Well, I was having that feeling with this place and decided I would take another look around." Chan-Yeol told them. "So I focused DM in my eyes and…" Keng and Calis watched as Chan-Yeol's eyes flared. For a moment, Keng thought he saw something swirling inside his eyes.

"Energy Sense." Calis responded in surprise. "I didn't think humans knew how to do that, yet."

"Energy Sense?" Akio asked. "That's what you call it?"

"Of course." Calis nodded. "You can focus your Energy to your eyes and see trails no other can see. That's how you found a gone cold trail."

"Not many Biohumans can do this yet." Akio pointed. "As much experience I have, I can't even obtain such a power."

"A generation difference?" Calis whispered.

"No." Keng shook his head answering Calis. "If Akio and the Numbers are Generation Zero, then Mr. Chan-Yeol is Generation One. Lee Seng would be Generation Two."

"Three generations…? That's right! The serum was tested on the Numbers so they would be Zero."

"But if you want to play around with technicalities, Lee Seng is a special case. He has Generation Zero Dark Matter within him." Keng continued. Akio and Chan-Yeol looked at each other.

"How do you know that?" Akio asked.

"Lee Seng always talks about a Protocol. I figure he must have some odd serum that was put into him." Keng answered, shoving some fried rice into his mouth. "I know a lot of things about him that you probably don't."

"Like what?" Akio asked.

"Let's not get off topic here." Chan-Yeol roped Akio and Keng back into the topic at hand. "I found a trail that makes me believe that LEe Seng somehow passed out and was taken somewhere else… The strangest part is there is no trace of anyone in that apartment other than Lee Seng, who came out of a closet."

"Could be a portal." Calis chimed in.

"Calis!" Keng looked over at Calis.

"What?"

"You weren't supposed to—"

"Portal? Dungeon portal?" Akio asked.

"Well…" Keng bit his lip. "Remember I mentioned Lee Seng went off Realm a couple of times?"

"Yeah?"

"If he came out of the closet then there's a portal there from another Realm." Keng told them.

"Or he Realmwalked." Calis spoke. Keng turned, eyes wide as Calis took another bite of food. "What? You might as well tell them everything. It's not like they're going to tell anyone."

"I tried to tell them the least amount as possible just in case that thought witch gets into their heads." Keng motioned.

"What?" Akio tilted his head.

"Thought witch? Number 1?" Chan-Yeol asked.

"If no one was there and Lee Seng's energy was obviously showing signs of passing out, what knocked him out?" Keng asked changing the subject.

"He could've got knocked out by noise." Akio suggested. "There are  people who can do that sort of thing."

"Where would they have taken him, then?"

"That's the strangest part. There was indication of someone entering the place and then grabbing Lee Seng, but there was never any indication of leaving. They went through the closet and just… Vanished." Chan-Yeol explained.

"They took the Portal." Calis leaned back into his chair. He was the first to finish his plate of food while Keng and the others barely touched any of theirs. "That's the most logical thing that could've happened in my opinion."

"Logical? I guess that's where we're different." Akio commented.

"Look, you guys are infants compared to us." Calis pointed between him and Keng. "Our people - our species - have been doing this for many, many, many years. Millennia to some of us. There are points in your world that can be used to cross into another. Some go to Daros, where we're from, and some go somewhere else. If you figure out both parts, you can easily move through Realms."
