Lin Yi’s impression of Xiaoxiao did not change. He just thought she was acting weirdly, confessing to him out of the blue. He had no idea what was wrong with her.

She even told her dad about the boyfriend thing, which made him suspect her all the more.

“Great!” Xiaoxiao nodded happily.

As they were conversing, a Nissan Quest pulled up and parked in the parking lot of the Songjiang International Hotel.

Chengtian, Tianlong, Xinyan, and the Xiao brothers got out. Wangba praised, “Bro Chengtian, you’re such a big shot. I’ve only come here once or twice, and those were during the House meetings.”

“Hehe, it’s nothing to brag about.” Chengtian waved his hand like a celebrity would. In reality, even though House Wu was powerful from generation to generation, they had been prioritizing martial arts. They were experts in various forms of kung fu but were mediocre businessmen, only earning tens of millions per annum. And although they owned several companies, they weren’t the size of megacorps. So at an auction, House Wu would windowshop, rarely having a reason to bid.

Not everything was expensive in Songjiang International Hotel. The rooms, for example, were split into several categories—economy rooms, business rooms, deluxe suites, presidential suites, and more. The typical economy room cost only a few hundred RMB a day, but the presidential suite cost tens of thousands per day!

It was the same for food. The first and second floors held normal restaurants. The prices weren’t expensive; a full table cost at most 800 to 1,000 RMB. If you didn’t reserve a room and ate dining hall meals, it cost just a few dozen RMB.

But don’t even think of dining on the third and fourth floors if you don’t have eight to ten thousand RMB to spare. And the top floor was even more ridiculous. A meal for a full table cost millions. They only served top-tier food prepared by international master chefs!

Of course, each floor had their individual elevators. The restaurant customers didn’t need to worry that their wealth differences might cause unhappiness.

“Indeed! Bro Chengtian is leagues above us!” Wangdao flattered while giving him a thumbs up.

Xinyan frowned as she found the flattery disturbing. She didn't understand what her father saw in these rich kids! Xinyan was confident that she wouldn't fall for them even after ten years of interaction.

Wangba was about to flatter Chengtian some more when he looked up in shock and saw Chengtian looking distressed. “What's wrong, bro?”

“Fuck, that's the punk!” Chengtian clenched his fists as he stared at the not too distant Lin Yi. He felt the urge to charge forward and give Lin Yi a good beating!

“Oh? He’s here?” Zhaolong was surprised to see him here as well. Since he wasn’t at the auction, it was no surprise he didn't know Lin Yi was in Yanjing.

“Bro Chengtian, shall we teach him a lesson? Who's that lady with him? A good-looking girl’s with him?” Wangba noticed that Lin Yi was alone with a girl, so he got arrogant even though House Xiao had fallen on hard times. But he was still from a powerful house and didn’t give a shit about the people in Yanjing.

“Ahhh.” Xinyan didn't expect to see Lin Yi here either and let out a sigh. She wondered why Lin Yi would show up here. She even phoned him earlier.

“There’s no need!” Chengtian waved it off as Wangba reminded him that there was indeed a girl standing beside him. Lin Yi was with a girl who wasn’t Jingyi, who was his girlfriend, and was going out with said girl. Hehe, it’s Lin Yi’s turn to be disgraced, Chengtian thought. If he told Jingyi about this, would she still date Lin Yi?

Of course, it was natural for rich kids to do such things. It didn't matter as long as they did it behind the girls’ backs. It would be chaos if their girlfriends found out.

“No need?” Wangba was confused. This was a great opportunity to beat Lin Yi up. Why was there no need?

“I'm going to invite them dinner, just cooperate! Don’t say anything stupid, listen to me, and everything will be fine!” Chengtian wasn't stupid. He knew Jingyi wouldn't believe him if he just told her that Lin Yi had an affair. She would even think that he was making it up!

Evidence was always required! Although he could have just taken a photo of them standing together at the hotel entrance, it didn’t prove anything. Lin Yi could’ve bumped into an old friend and started talking for hours. Chengtian wasn't so stupid to use this as evidence!

Chengtian’s idea was to treat Lin Yi to dinner and take a picture of them when the couple started to get intimate. Of course, if Lin Yi was on guard, he would give him more to drink, which would make it hard for him to not give things away and would be the best time for Chengtian to photograph the evidence. Then Jingyi would have no choice but to accept it!

Chengtian felt he was a genius for plotting this, setting a trap for Lin Yi to character assassinate him.

“Ah? Bro Chengtian, you’re planning on treating him as well?” Wangba couldn’t believe his ears.

“Exactly! I’ll need your guys’ help, and cell phones, to take photos of them when things start to heat up!” Chengtian ordered.

“Sure!” Wangba and the others nodded. Only Xinyan frowned, not sure of what Chengtian was planning.

“Lin Yi.” Chengtian strode toward Lin Yi after giving his orders.

LinYi did not expect to meet someone he knew here and turned around, seeing it was Chengtian. He wasn’t angry and looking trouble, was he?

“What do you want?” Lin Yi glanced at him and noticed Xinyan was right behind him! Lin Yi was finding it more and more strange. How could Xinyan be mingling with people like Chengtian? And next to Xinyan was another familiar face. Zhaolong was here too!

“Brother Lin Yi, I sincerely apologize for all the trouble that just took place!” Chengtian clenched his teeth and acted deeply apologetic. “My grandpa already lectured me; I hope you didn’t take offense….”

“Oh, I don’t give the time of day to nobodies, I don’t even remember your name.” LinYi looked at him and waved. “You are Wu Tieshou,1 right?”

A scowl flashed across Chengtian’s face before he could conceal it. “Ah, my name is Wu Chengtian. You can also call me Wu Tieshou since I’m of the Iron Fist Wus!”
