Awakened: Evolving to Godhood

After sorting out all of the stuff, Elliot pulled out the poisonous gallbladder from his subspace. It was an evolution material that he had got from the carcass of the Shadow Hunter. It contained potent poison, one strong enough to melt the skin of humans and magicians alike if they were to touch it barehanded. However, Elliot was holding it in his bare hand, yet he faced no such consequences. It was because he was immune to it.

It had a lot of impurities, enough to kill whoever consumes it. However, Elliot was immune to all of them as its impurities were just different kinds of poisons.

Thus, he opened his mouth wide and shoved it inside.

[You've consumed a potent poison-type evolution material!]

The moment the poisonous gallbladder came in contact with his saliva, it exploded, causing a warm and murky liquid carrying a putrid scent to seep into his mouth.

[It has dissolved into a liquid state]

Elliot's eyebrows scrunched up in disgust. The taste was awful, making him feel like he was consuming a pig's excretion topped with a man's puke! However, he controlled the urge to puke out whatever was in his mouth and instead balled his hands into a fist, clenched his teeth, and swallowed it, appearing very manly as he did so.

The very next moment, his eyes turned bloodshot.

"Ugh." He grunted, clenching his teeth so that he wouldn't moan out loud.

He felt as if he had shoved molten lava down his throat. A painful feeling enveloped his senses, and his skin turned so red that it threatened to tear apart and bleed.

Waves of murky liquid went down to the pit of his stomach, and when they came in contact with the enzymes and acidic liquid in his stomach, they exploded, resulting in the manifestation of countless speckles of grayish-green lights. The explosion was strong enough to shake Elliot, and he felt weird as his stomach turned grayish-green.

"Thud!" "Thud!" "Thud!"

At first, his body trembled slightly, but after a moment, he started rocking back and forth, almost appearing like he was sitting in a plane that was experiencing turbulence as the specks of light shot out of his stomach and entered his bloodstream.

[Congratulations! The poisonous supernatural cells have invaded your bloodstream.]

[You've entered the awakening evolutionary state.]

[You're a step away from gaining a poisonous supernatural ability.]

The specks of light that entered his bloodstream were emitting a grayish-green radiance that carried the ability to eradicate a magician's red blood cells. However, his red blood cells carried a black dot in their center, which made them immune to the poisonous radiation seeping out of the grayish-green cells.

Now, if it was any other magician, the poisonous supernatural cells would have either killed them or become a part of their bloodstream, causing them to awaken. However, Elliot was far different than one. The black dot in the center of his blood cells released a suction force, one strong enough to pull the poisonous supernatural cells towards them.

A moment later, the two types of cells crashed with each other, merging into one, something that shouldn't be possible or at least hadn't happened to any magician for the past decades.

[Congratulations! Your blood cells are consuming the poisonous supernatural cells to evolve into something great!]

A notification bearing great news popped up in Elliot's mind, but he was in so much pain that he didn't even realize it. He felt as if someone was using lava as threads and knives as needles to sew several lines inside of his body. He wasn't wrong, as something indeed was coming into being inside of him.

[Congratulations! Twelve energy channels had formed inside of your body. Attack their entrance, open them up, nourish them, and connect them into one to gain an energy circuit!]

The moment that notification popped up in his body, the searing pain enveloping different parts of his body vanished. He now no longer felt like a mountain where humans were drilling several tunnels, but the traces of what he had gone through remained on his body. From head to toe, sweat covered his body, and his clothes were sticking to his skin, making him feel uncomfortable. He took his shirt off, but not what was down below as a maiden was sleeping nearby. One can say that Elliot hadn't forgotten basic human decency.

A smile also appeared on his face. According to the books, a magician can only have nine to ten energy channels. However, he gained twelve, two to three more than normal, from awakening successfully. Maybe it was because he was no longer entirely a human but one part God? He didn't know, but he didn't ponder over it too much either. He was happy with what he got, and that's all that mattered to him.

"Hmm?" He felt unusually hot and could tell that something was congealing in his bloodstream.

[Congratulations! You've successfully awakened a new type of superpower.]

"Finally!" The moment he had been waiting for his life, the desire of all humans, he had finally achieved it. He had awakened and stepped on the path of a magician.

He didn't know how many times, but when he asked Hope, he didn't receive a definite answer. It didn't have any information regarding such a superpower in its database.
