Awakened: Evolving to Godhood

Chapter 174 - The Guardian Of The Beast's Den!

Lucy thought differently from her teammates and believed that there might be an unidentified danger in front of them, and that's why he stopped them from going ahead.

Meanwhile, Elliot walked up to the pond.

"So, did you find anything?" He asked.

"Master, my spiritual senses caught nothing." It said, "If there's a monster inside of the pond just like you had said, then it's probably far stronger than me or holds a spirit mark that allows it to hide its presence and remain undetected from the spiritual senses of others."

"It's probably the latter."

After standing a foot away from the pool, Elliot said the following words in a loud voice, "I know you're hiding in there, so come out, or I will come uninvited."

His voice carried such force that the surface of the water rippled. He didn't amplify it by using any type of energy, not that he could. He was just physically so strong. The onlookers wondered who he was talking to. Was there really a demon in the pond?

For a while, nothing happened. It was as if no one existed inside of the pond.

Elliot clicked his tongue. Golden energy surged out of his body, enveloping his clothes in a thick skin-like membrane. Then, he took a step ahead, entering the pond.

Right at that very moment, as if he had broken some rules, the surface of the pond trembled violently before a shadowy figure surfaced, shooting up a stream of water as it did so. Droplets of water sprinkled down in everyone, but the ones that rained down on Elliot slid off of him.

Lucy and her teammates gaped while looking at the majestical monster standing tall and mighty in front of them. At the moment, the look on their face was priceless.

"Hiss!" "Roar!" The shadowy figure had two heads, one with scales and the other with horns. If that was not enough to express its unusual mightiness, it also sprouted dragon-like wings from its back. The wings had many scales that shone more brightly than the brightest of crystals one could find in Xavier and Earth. Its scarlet eyes stared at the intruder that dared to intrude on its home.

"Who are you? And how dare you woke me up from my slumbers? Where are my worshipers?" The horrifying nightmare, currently acting as Elliot's in-real-time translator, translated what the mighty twin-headed snake said.

From its words, Elliot concluded that this beast was in cahoot with the nightmare panthers. To be more specific, it was acting as their guardian because they were offering it food and lodging and also praising it to high heaven.

"My name's Elliot, and I came from a world far away. I'm going to rest here for the night, and I woke you up because I can't sleep on a surface where danger lays right beneath. Can you sleep while knowing someone might attack you at any time? No, I believe you can't. Lastly, your worshipers attacked us, so I wiped them off the surface of this world." Elliot said.

The horrifying nightmare translated his words into spirit language and conveyed it to the twin-headed snake that was so tall that it towered over the trees.

Its ruby eyes turned a shade redder as it felt angered at the news of the death of its worshippers. However, it knew that such was the rule of the jungle. The strong ones reign while the weak ones suffer. Furthermore, It didn't lash out at Elliot, not only because its soul suppression wasn't working on him but also because thanks to its third eye, it realized that his soul was on the same level or even higher than itself! That meant that either his parents were being far stronger than itself and killing him outright would bring trouble over itself, or that he was strong. However, it could tell that his body wasn't half as strong as itself.

Anyway, instead of attacking him, It stared dagger at him for a brief moment before saying, "Be honest, why have you truly come here?"

Elliot looked at it in silence, but underneath his calm demeanor, he was doing a lot of things, such as extracting information about it.

[Name: Twin-Headed Snake]

[Stage: Early-stage Spiritual being]

[HP: 10000 units]

[Spiritual energy: 2700 units]

[Soul Stage: Intermediate water soul]

Although the monster in front of him was stronger than he initially thought, the strongest he had ever come across, Elliot believed that with 23000 units of the essence of life in his body, fighting it wouldn't be life-threatening, and he might even defeat it.

"What do you think?" Elliot responded as calmly as ever.

"To loot?"

"And sleep."

"Do you think I would let you do that?"

"I came bearing no ill will towards you, but if you want a fight, then I will give you war."

"You're strong for your age, but I doubt you can match up to me.

"Won't we find out the difference between us by exchanging some moves?"

The horrifying nightmare translated their conversation back and forth.

"That's what I had intended to do. After all, you killed what was mine and that leaves me with no choice but to teach you a lesson." It hissed, "Three attacks. If you survive three of my attacks, I will let the matter rest here, and you can take what belongs to them and even rest here for the night."

Elliot beamed towards it.

"Bring it on."

The horrifying nightmare gulped in horror. Was its master crazy? Otherwise, why did he accept the challenge of a being far stronger than a spirit elite? It could tell that the twin-headed snake was a whole stage above itself because it felt suppressed just by being in its presence. It was a suppression caused by the difference in their soul.

Even the mortal felt it!

However, Elliot felt nothing; and that's what significantly lowered the snake's desire to outright attack to kill him.

"I applaud your courage, mortal."

"But how do I believe your words?"

"Let's vow on our soul!"

"Alright."

Although he said that, he had no idea about the effectiveness of such a vow. However, he believed that his slave must know about it.

Elliot glanced at his slave, his eyes asking what kind of vow is that.
