Chapter 53 Finding the Key
On the dark and dirty ground, there was a pile of rotten meat, but no blood. It was as messy and disorderly as cotton.

Above the minced meat, a strange piece of human skin floated out of thin air. The dark face turned to face Gu Sheng, and the lips seemed to be raised in an arc.

"Gu Sheng, it hurts so much when you hit me..."

"Doctor Gu, come quickly, I am the dean, have you forgotten..."

Two voices, a man's and a woman's, came from the human skin, overlapping each other and constantly surrounding Gu Sheng's ears.

Gu Sheng held the door frame tightly with one hand, and the other hand holding the hammer was sweating, making the metal hammer handle extremely smooth.

The goosebumps on his body completely popped up, and he wanted to step back, but he couldn't move his legs. He could only watch the terrifying figure, constantly waving at him.

Like a life-threatening ghost, no, much more terrifying than a life-demanding ghost.

After a few seconds, Gu Sheng couldn't hold on anymore. He lifted up his trembling legs, climbed up the steps without looking back, and ran outside. As for the human-faced spider at the door, he had long since ignored it.

Even if the blood is sucked by a spider, it is better than being squeezed by such a horrible thing like fruit.

The thin soles stepped on the soft spider, and the sound of popping liquid kept coming from the soles of the shoes. After a few steps, Gu Sheng felt sticky under his feet, and blood seemed to soak into the shoes with every step he took.

From the moment he stepped out of the steps, the shouts behind him decreased a lot, and in the end there was only an undetectable roar.

"It turns out this thing can't come out."

Gu Sheng stood by the white wall, holding the hammer tightly, and breathed a long sigh of relief. As long as this thing couldn't get out, he wasn't afraid. But then, he frowned.

This time he had no problem, but next time, if he wanted to get his health records, he would have to come back here.

After Gu Sheng calmed down, he began to recall what had just happened in his mind. All the details were like a movie, shaking frame by frame in front of his eyes.

"This weirdness definitely didn't appear for no reason, otherwise he wouldn't have let me pass in the first place."

"Could it be that the door of the dean's office is a prerequisite, or the white coat, or the fresh blood is the introduction."

Various speculations were circulating in Gu Sheng's mind. Until he returned to the ward, he still had no clue. When he passed the nursing station, he saw the nurse again.

The other person was still writing something on the paper with his head lowered as before. When he inadvertently raised his head, he could clearly reveal the bruises that had spread to his neck.

The more Gu Sheng looked at it, the more he felt that the ecchymosis seemed to be an open mouth biting the nurse's neck.

While he was watching intently, the nurse suddenly raised her head, looking at Gu Sheng with her gray eyes without blinking, her pale lips curled up in a weird smile.

"Patient, you...don't run around..."

Gu Sheng's breath stopped, he shook his head, and got into the ward. From the reflection of the glass on the door, he could clearly see that the nurse had been staring at his back.

Gu Sheng, who was lying on the bed, didn't know why the nurse said that, but he knew one thing very well. It was already eleven fifteen, and in a quarter of an hour, he should take action.

When waiting, the time is always very long.

Gu Sheng almost stared at the minute hand as it inched towards the six position. As time passed, his heartbeat became faster and faster, not because of fear, but because of nervousness.

Just like the state before the exam, anxious but looking forward to it.

"Click!"

When 11:30 arrived, Gu Sheng jumped up from the bed, opened the door and rushed out, but what he saw made him dumbfounded.

The nurse did not leave, still sitting at the nursing station.

"What...what do you want to do?" The nurse's voice was mechanical and slow.

Gu Sheng's hands and feet were cold. He thought of many things at this moment, but the most deep-rooted thought was that Li Donglin had lied to him and the nurse would not leave at 11:30. "No...it's okay." Gu Sheng pursed his lips and asked pretending to be relaxed, "Aren't you going to have lunch?"

"Do you care about this issue?"

The nurse stood up, leaned forward across the nursing station, stared at Gu Sheng with her gray eyes motionless, and said slowly: "What are you expecting?"

She was obviously a living person, but in Gu Sheng's eyes, the nurse's movements were like a stiff puppet, and her eyes showed no human emotion at all.

Not even as good as Zhou Ziping. Although Zhou Ziping is very annoying, at least he still has human emotions.

Gu Sheng didn't say anything, but the nurse still maintained the same posture, with half of her body stretched out of the nursing station, with a few black spots on her pale and narrow fingers.

Suddenly, a gong sounded in the corridor, and the crisp sound broke the solemn atmosphere between Gu Sheng and the nurse.

As if following a set procedure, the nurse stood up straight, glared at Gu Sheng, turned and walked towards the duty room at the back.

Gu Sheng glanced at the time on the wall. It was 11:30 here, and the clock in his room was one minute faster.

The nurse's back disappeared into the room. Gu Sheng lowered his body and got into the nursing station. The one-meter-high stone platform could hide his figure well.

The nursing station is very simple, except for a few blue medical record folders and a few pieces of paper recording the patient's physical data.

The top record sheet begins with Li Donglin, whom Gu Sheng is most familiar with.

"Ward No. [-], is it a single ward?" Gu Sheng wrote down the ward number, hoping that when he regained his status as a doctor, he could go there to see the old director.

Gu Sheng started from the drawers under the computer desk on the far left and opened them one by one to check. However, except for countless records, there was no metal inside, let alone keys.

2 minutes have passed.

"There are still 30 seconds." Gu Sheng lowered his head and muttered.

Although Li Donglin said the time was five minutes, this also included the time it took to go to the doctor's office and steal his case. At the nursing station, he could only lose two and a half minutes.

The clock on the wall kept ticking, and the sweat on Gu Sheng's forehead slid down his pale skin. There were still ten seconds left, but he still couldn't find the key, and at this time he had already rummaged through the drawers here.

The only place he didn't search at this time was the white box containing the medicine next to it, with a red seal on it.

The more critical the situation, the calmer Gu Sheng became. Instead of tearing off the seal, he pulled it bit by bit along the edge of the seal until the entire lower half of the seal was separated from the box.

"It really is here."

Gu Sheng smiled happily, carefully picked up the big bunch of keys and slowly took them out of the box.

When the key completely left the box, the seal suddenly broke in the middle and split neatly into two parts, with the lower half dangling and falling to the ground.

"I rely on!"

Gu Sheng cursed secretly, quickly picked up the seal, and tried to re-fix it on the box, but failed.

Watching three minutes pass, Gu Sheng gritted his teeth, spit on the seal, and then pressed the seal back on.

"Crench!"

The door lock of the nurse's duty room rang, and the sound of footsteps was heard.

Gu Sheng's movements froze. He put the key in his pocket and rushed from the nursing station toward the doctor's office on tiptoes, regardless of whether it was sealed or not.

He only has 1 minute left.
