Douyin is a music and creative short video social software that can shoot short videos. The software was launched in September 2016. It is a music short video community platform focusing on young people. Users can use this software to select songs, shoot short music videos, and form their own works.

On July 3, 2018, TikTok, the overseas version of Douyin, was banned in Indonesia due to harmful content.

From July 1 to July 31, 2018, Douyin platform cleared a total of 36,323 videos, 8,463 audios, 252 challenges, permanently banned 39,361 accounts, and imposed administrative penalties of warnings and fines.
