In the Tang Dynasty, for officials above the third rank, the term"ceremony" was used; for officials above the fifth rank,"zhijian" was used, and for officials below the sixth rank, the term"imperial conferment" was used. The official ranks of civil servants in the Tang Dynasty were divided into nine ranks. Except for the first rank, which was not established, each rank was divided into Zheng and Cong from the second rank. From the fourth rank, there were upper and lower ranks, for a total of twenty-nine ranks. The official ranks of military attaches are also divided into nine ranks.
