Ying Wei's expression straightened, he considered his words, and slowly said:"……Confucianism emphasizes self-cultivation, ordering the family, governing the country and bringing peace to the world"

"Regardless of self-cultivation, the ultimate goal is to govern the country and bring peace to the world."

"Although there are many Confucian disciples, they seem to be studying knowledge, but all they want is to use their knowledge to get an official position."

"The so-called showing one's ambitions is not inconsistent with wanting to become a prince or a general. Only by occupying a high position can one demonstrate one's own philosophy of governing the country."

"Even Teacher, didn’t you also serve as the Lanling Order in Chu State?"

"Governing a big country is like cooking small dishes. The king should have his own thoughts and considerations, just like the way to hold on to the present, and to control the present!"

When Ying Lai came to this pre-Qin era and saw the real original version of the"Tao Te Ching", he realized how much the"Tao Te Ching" he had seen in later generations had changed. For example, this sentence:"Adhere to the way of the present, and use it to control the present." 'This is the content of the Tao Te Ching of this era.

But in the Tao Te Ching of the future that Ying Wei has read, this sentence is 'Adhere to the ancient way to control the present'.

‘From the literal meaning, it can be seen that this is an attitude concept similar to seeking truth from facts.

Although 'upholding the ancient way' can be interpreted as following the ancient way, the literal meaning gives the impression that we must follow the ancient law.

Therefore, Ying Wei guessed that this sentence might have been changed by a later Confucian. After all, Confucianism followed ancient etiquette the most.

All documents in the pre-Qin period were written on bamboo slips, which were expensive to write, so the language must be concise.

But the consequence of this is that these concise words can actually be understood as many different meanings, which is why the term"making notes" comes into being in the future.

Everyone can use their own understanding to annotate these classics, and therefore it is possible to tamper with the meaning of the original texts.
